[There's nothing going on here, nope. Not at all. Alice has walked into the shop and something manages to skirt pass her legs- it's not Julius. It's huge. And fluffy. And Alice has virtually dropped everything she is doing to come after the cat, leaning in to whisper to the cat.]


What do you think you're doing, Connor? Go back in the back room! You're going to get me in trouble.

[This big ball of fluff is being picked up as Alice scrambles in the back room. She plops the cat down, takes off back to the cleaning closet as if nothing happened.

[ It's very apparent that Altaïr still hasn't gotten the hang of his bracelet- since when he answers, the video is upside down. But hey, it's a start, right? ]

Alice. [ There is suspicion in his tone, and in his expression. Obvious scrutiny, as it is more than apparent that the teen is up to something.

[BUSY WITH THE CAT. Alice stops as soon as she hears him scratching. It's faint, but it's obvious enough to where Alice turns back. The strange thing is, Altair's voice sounds so distant and Alice's imagination is so vivid, it comes off as what Alice would expect him to say, if he were there. A mutter of concern and Julius blatantly down the hallway from here, walking around as he does, Alice pays no mind to her bracelet or the dog, just the door.]

[Sneaking something at the slightest creak of the door and unseen to the camera, little kitty paws are popping out as Alice gives him a piece of chicken.]

[Alice can be a master of hiding her emotions, at times, but she will never really be able to hide things, from, well. You know. The most observant people around in the shop. But in the meantime, she'll act like this is nothing.]

[Alastair hadn't been working at the shop for very long, but he had learned to recognize Alice, even if he hadn't tried to approach her yet. Ordinarily he would've at least introduced himself, but she seemed... unapproachable somehow, and there had never seemed like a natural moment, so it hadn't happened yet.

But holy crap that is a giant cat. That's a really big cat.

And so out of curiosity and fascination, Alastair follows Alice, poking his head into the back, because giant cat.]

[Alice has just scrambled away from the door, up until she's heard footsteps trail behind. And, well, there's Julius, making another round around the shop with a ball in his mouth, like normal. She doesn't quite pull her knife out, but Alice does still turn around and scold the person who's behind her.]

What is it that you think you're doing?

[Alastair blinks and straightens up, looking a little guilty.]

I'm sorry, I just... I've never seen a cat like that before.

Well, don't say anything! It's another stray with no other place to go.

[The much shorter Alice doesn't even budge, it's almost like a Mexican stand off in the hallway as Alice is caught there standing. If Altair was saying she's not being discreet now, there's no way she can get away from the cat's namesake.]
