Those of the Guard from Princess Diana's Squadron, report in to me now. I've not been able to make contact with her, we will split your numbers amongst the other two in her absence. Freyjadour, prepare for emergency formation - ours will take over Sigyn if you'll see to Heimdall. Hel should be far enough from the northern gate to be covered by a group of three or four, if there might be any volunteers to hold that position.

[ He pauses, lips pursed in displeasure. They are too pressed for time for any flourish. ]

Their forces are returning in kind, they will be upon us before long. Those of you still well enough to fight, we need you posted along the northern gate. Hold rank together, as their numbers vastly outweigh our own and we will stand stronger as one than spread thin throughout the whole of the city. If we can hold Odin and Baldr, we can prevent them reaching the Comfort House and the Arena. These should be made our priority [ as it feels very much like this is more an effort of staving off the inevitable over winning ] and those of you injured or unfit for battle, remain in either location. Do not make to the streets unless you are prepared for combat.

[ Another brief pause. ]

We were never under any illusions this battle would be easily met, and there is still more to come, but we are not yet lost, Asgard. We stand not amongst gods, but they amongst us, the Travellers of every realm across existence gathered not for Asgard, but for all beneath Yggdrasil. We fight to the last and withhold nothing. This is our moment to triumph, and we will not yield.

[ There are bandages around his neck to cover a burn, and there's really no saying what damage has been done beneath the layers of his armour, but it's trivial at the moment. ]

And here I was thinking I was the supreme ruler of motivational speeches.

[ But she gets serious again quickly, partly because she knows it's necessary and partly because grumpy Arthur is no fun to deal with. ]

I've killed a bunch of giants. Lost count, actually, at like... Twelve. Once you chop heads off that many times, keeping track just seems wacky. I -- don't really know about anyone else.

We had too vague an account of their initial numbers to tell, [ as he's cut through a fair few of them himself ] but it would seem we were fairly matched in casualties - which would leave them still with the advantage.

[ Arthur nods in acknowledgment, wincing only slightly for the burn beneath the wrap on his neck. ]

I'm glad to hear it. How goes amongst the other Healers?

Alright. That seems like a sound idea to me. [Mentally, he's trying to list the names of the people in Diana's group as he speaks.]

We have focused our efforts to Thor and Loki to hold them off from the hospital. If they'd not come from the northern gate - [ there's no helping that now, though ] How goes in your districts? Have we lost any men?

[Every time they separate he imagines the worst. He himself does not look at his best but he will stand by Arthur's side when they fight again; there is no doubt about that.

[ 'Unharmed' is a bit of a stretch, but 'not dead' is going to be their standard for 'doing well,' so Arthur manages a small smile. ]

The same of you, Lancelot. The others are in good shape, more or less. Tiring some, but such is to be expected.

About as alive as you'd expect. [because that's obviously all you needed to know, right?] Saw Sam earlier, he seemed okay. Haven't seen much of anyone else.

As I stated earlier, it's perhaps ever more prudent now to remain together if we can. If they're to outweigh us in number, we should make efforts to outweigh them in strength and resistance.

[ Less of take-them-all-down and more of keep-them-back. And it'll be easier to keep track of you all if you're nearby. :x ]

Even with the reinforcements, the odds are vastly in their favour. [Have a much more accurate appraisal here.] The loss of another dragon early in the day's battle seemed to dishearten their forces. Asgard's forces and allies held their ground well today.

[But it's far from enough, and they know it.]

I know just the person to secure Hel. Sophie Gargamel is leader of the watch, capable and cool headed. She's already know to enough locals to muster a preventative force.

[Dean has his battle-worn face on, grimy and grim but otherwise intact other than a few burns and cuts. He'd gotten off easy, but he'll never admit that it was because he'd had to fall back halfway through when his ammo had run out and nothing else seemed to be doing much damage.]

[There's not really much more to say, is there? Everyone is exhausted and battle worn, everyone is still nursing wounds and there is no time to heal up. Not when the enemy is coming back again. She and Castle survived the battle, but now it was time to head back out there.]
