[Federico is smiling broadly when he flashes on screen. There's a hint of unease hidden deep in his expression, deep enough that it wouldn't be easily noticed by anyone who wasn't either well versed in body language or well versed in Federico. He keeps rubbing at his neck almost absentmindedly.]

Well, I must say, I have never been quite so flattered to wake up somewhere with no memory of how I arrived there. I would have expected a hangover, or perhaps an angry father ordering his men to kill me-- [Federico gestures lazily, as though that's hardly an important thing to dwell on.]

Not this! To be chosen, so you say, to help with this place! Truly, you could find no one better than I for such a mission. Now, if someone could simply point me in the direction of some wine and attractive women, I can certainly set about helping this place be more lively. I am certain there would be others with a similar appetite.

--Oh, and I suppose I should ask if anyone has additional information on this place. Magical bracelets and strange greetings; this is all as though it is some strange story a child would tell. I have learned some already, of course, but it is always prudent to ask more of those more skilled than I am in more mundane pursuits.

[He hadn't chosen to listen to the new introductions recently. Between establishing trust with the Syrians, not losing his temper at an arrogant assassin, speaking with his sister who had recently arrived, and running both the shop and the Bureau, Ezio has had his hands full.

So when his bracelet turns on unexpectedly today, and he hears that voice, the Italian stops right in his tracks, head snapping immediately to the sound and refusing to touch anything on the bracelet. As if he's afraid of losing the signal just by moving.

[He knows that face. Knows that smile, the quirk of uneasiness that the other portays, knows the words are just as real as when he was alive. But... this has to be a trick. The gods would never be this kind. They want something from him, they have to. But it's his older brother.

[So he steadies himself, goes to reply with a usual greeting--

And his voice fails.

Inwardly, he curses at himself, frustrated that he cannot form words. He is a Mentor, and Mentors do not lose their words even in the most troubling of times. They are steadfast, headstrong, unafraid of challenges, and do not waver in the face of opposition. But what Mentor has ever had to face meeting a dead family member for the first time in thirty years?

As though I would forget? [... He knows that voice. He knows it's Ezio, though Ezio sounds far different. He isn't entirely surprised by that, though a tension in his chest starts to ease. That's one of his siblings safe. If his father and Petruccio are also here, well, all the better, even as the memories of the noose around his neck and the short fall come rushing back again.

He keeps moving for lack of anything else to do -- and also because as much as has happened, as much has changed recently, he is hardly about to make anything easy for his little brother.]

[Oh... oh God.... She thought she had seen impossible, but this? This was beyond impossible. This couldn't be her oldest brother, her oldest brother was dead. This had to be someone else, someone from one of those different worlds Ezio had mentioned.

And yet, there's no one else it could be. The behavior listed was unmistakable, his voice dug claws into her heart, and seeing his face... well. Seeing his face resulted in what can only be described as feelings overload. She dabs her eyes with her sleeve because like hell is her brother going to see her crying. Explaining that she's tearing up because he was supposed to have died 27 years prior... it doesn't sound like a good idea at all.]

[And then she remembered there were different functions to this bracelet. She could have it send him her voice and not her face.]

Here I thought I was special in my arrival here. It seems half the family is here! [Little sister, can't let her know anything is wrong. She sounds a little different, too, and the tension that started to ease at the sound of her voice and Ezio's is starting to creep back, unease sifting through his chest. There's more going on than he's aware of, and as easy as it is to present the same smile he always does to his siblings, he feels very out of his depth.]
