[He grins, a little, his confidence returning.] So... what did I miss? Did this turn out to be a surreal fever dream while I was out of it, by any chance?

Ichigo? [Sort of an unusual name, from Desmond's perspective, but he takes it in stride.] Well, nice to meet you for real, this time. I'm Desmond.

[Oh... that's weird. Even after he's used to Ezio, seeing her is weird. Desmond just stares for a long moment before he finds his voice.] What-- oh! Yeah, no kidding. [He smiles again, wryly this time.] I think I'd need pretty strong meds if this is what I was hallucinating.

[Desmond flashes Caterina a quick and rather Ezio-ish grin.] Not a thing. Just didn't expect to get such a nice greeting so soon.

[mmmhmm. Caterina apparently did not get the memo that this is not the exact same Desmond who talked to her when she arrived several months ago. She's mildly confused.]
