[Someone made a post about Christmas just as she was waking up, and it inspired her. So her face appears, flushed and sweaty but smiling gently, and behind her is Heimdall's kitchen table absolutely loaded with food. It looks like it should be groaning under the weight.]

Hi, everyone, it's Nakama again. Somebody mentioned that it's the holidays, and I wanted to make sure everyone got a gift, so I thought I'd make breakfast. Since there are a lot of people who don't know how to cook or use the appliances, this is a chance to have a nice meal... at least, I hope it's nice... anyway, it doesn't matter what house you're in, you can feel free to come to Heimdall House and have some. I'll be making more to replace what's gone, so please eat your fill.

((ooc: this is a post for everyone who doesn't have much going over the holidays, but has had some tag slowdown because of all the hiatuses, but anyone can tag in at any time of course. Let's all get together and keep ourselves entertained until things kick back into gear! Threadjacks welcome, video to ask about it or action to simply arrive, your choice. it's a party up in here. [Naminé's quick to start a reply, although she's still having a little trouble processing all of that food, because there's just so much of it. It's more than she's ever seen at one time before.]

I think it looks nice...! Did you make all of that yourself, Nakama? [Because goodness, that must have been a herculean task.] There's so much of it.

[She laughs a little, bashfully.] I get up pretty early. And most breakfast food is pretty quick to cook, so it wasn't too much trouble. I just hope it's okay, I've never made so much before...

Wow...! Good job. It's really kind of you to do that for everyone.

[She does want to come over, but she's not quite sure how to say it, so she laughs, also bashful, and says,] I guess I have to come see if it tastes as good as it looks, don't I?

[And her blush deepens at the compliment.] I'd like that.

[ This guy has no idea how to cook for himself. He has been exploring the vast realms of pb&j, cold cut sandwiches and on one occasion dabbling with the sophisticated grilled cheese sandwich.

He burned it.

He has no idea what holiday it is and maybe he should if he's thinking about eating food made for it but--he just wants to eat something that's not a sandwich. So it doesn't take long for him to make up his mind and stroll into the kitchen. ]

Thanks, Nakama. [ He can at least be polite before digging into something for a holiday he doesn't care about. ...But wait. ] ...Is everyone supposed to do gifts? [ Is he going to be obligated to do something for the whole house himself if he partakes 8|;;;; ]

No, no! [She smiles, waving off his concern.] It was just something I wanted to do for everyone. It's not about repaying, it's just about giving if you want to give.

Okay! [Whew.] I'll be over soon, then.

Alright, I'll see you soon.

[Once the video is off, she gets to work finishing off some bacon she had frying when she called everyone. She's got plates cooked soft and medium, and now she's got crunchy so that everyone can have bacon at their favourite texture. She lays out the plate, then soaks the pan so it'll be ready to cook something else if necessary. She'll be cleaning for the rest of the afternoon, but it's worth it.]

[ Oh okay. He wouldn't have qualms about repaying Nakama but there are a lot of clowns in this whole place. ~~Him included.~~ He's not making nice because of a holiday. Speaking of which-- ]

What's this holiday?

[Naminé leaves the house shortly afterward, bundled up as she's been taught. It takes her a while to find her way, though, since she's still not totally familiar with the numerous streets of the city, but she does make it eventually, a bit chilly from the walk but otherwise unharmed. There's a hesitation at the door, since she's not totally familiar with the customs involved in such a situation, then just ends up carefully opening the door and peeking in.]

It's called Christmas. It's a time when you get together with people you love, either your family or a special person, and exchange gifts and spend time together. You don't have it where you're from...?

[There's still a big stack of plates and cutlery at one end of the table, since no one's been in to eat yet - it struck her too late that she'd have to be rewashing dishes constantly if everyone in the city showed up, but so be it - so that's where Nakama directs Naminé when she arrives.]

If anything's unfamiliar or you don't know how to eat it, just let me know and I'll explain. [There's most of the Western standards, since traditional Japanese breakfast is a little more elaborate - scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, pancakes - and all of the condiments necessary for them.]

Okay...! [She'd probably try to figure it out on her own, though, so as not to be a bother. Fortunately, most of this looks straightforward, but she still ends up standing at the end of the table, clutching her as-of-yet-empty plate and looking a bit lost. There are just so many things that she's not sure where to start.] ...Can we really have anything we want?

[ He shrugs. ] Different worlds, different people. We've got something similar though. Maybe it's got something to do with the time of year...

[ Now, this is a hearty plate. Time to find a chair; he puts himself down pretty close to everything while there's still not too many people, though he's careful not to mess up Nakama's place settings.

[A gentle smile.] Of course you can. Heimdall will probably be pretty mad if I waste a bunch of his food, won't he? It's got to get eaten.

Really? What's it called?

[Then she realizes that he's about to eat, and raises her hands as though to wave the words out of the air.]

Oh, sorry...

--Oh! Oh, okay. [Well, she can't let Nakama get in trouble, now can she? So she should help. Naminé really has no idea what she'd like out of all of this, but... what's the harm in giving all of it a try? She takes small portions of everything, but even with the variety her plate isn't totally full. If her weight is any indication, she doesn't typically eat much - that's something that's remained true even in Asgard, since she has no cooking ability or knowledge whatsoever, and has so far subsisted upon whatever she can manage to scrounge from the kitchen. She's probably a bit too thin.]

[She's in good company, then, because Nakama is one of those early teens who has gained height without any shape - she looks unhealthy at first glance, only her round face giving away the fact that she's just naturally so skinny.

She's still got so much work to do, but no one else has arrived yet - she can sit with Namine for a moment. After one last thing.]

Do you want something to drink?

Sure. Yes, please. [What, though, escapes her. Her first instinct is to assume that she'll just be given something, rather than being allowed to choose, but her better sense makes her pause to reconsider that and stay put to see if there's anything else she has to answer.]

There's juice, or tea if you'd rather have something warm. [Not offering coffee, because remember, growth stunting. Her mom was very firm about that.]

Mm... I think I'll have juice, please, if that's okay. [Can't have growth stunting, no. She'll need all the growing she can get, short little thing that she is.]

[And soon enough, a glass of juice is brought to her side. Nakama sits beside her for a quick break, but doesn't speak - she wants her to have the chance to eat a bit first.]

Thank you. [Naminé feels as though she should have offered to get it herself, but she failed to say so in time. After a moment or two of staring half-dazedly at her plate, she chooses something at random - it ends up being pancakes - and takes a bite.]

[ Blink. Nakama, you're a weird girl... ]

It's just a solstice holiday. [ He's from a world where the names of towns have been wiped out of public memory incredibly quickly by Shinra's expansion. Churches fell out of use much the same. Shinra might put up lights every year for the display of feel-good, but the actual religious holiday? Pretty well faded into obscurity, at least for Cloud.

...Scrambled eggs, so fluffy and warm. It's almost hilarious how this guy's face lights up when he bites in. ]

[She's trying to look relaxed, but she's on the edge of her seat. Is it okay? Overcooked, undercooked? Should she have made less and focussed more on each dish?]
