-02- [ANONYMOUS, TEXT]

So, here's a question for anyone who might know the answer: What happens when all this is over? Let's pretend we win, and we're actually sent home - do we get dropped oh so conveniently back in the same spot considering we were so inconveniently taken, or do things change?

Since we've kind of done the world a favor in the end, I feel like we could ask for a favor in return, right?

When I went home, nothing had changed at all; I didn't even remember coming here until I cam back.

Yes. Though, quite a bit of time passed here while I was gone, but it was only a few seconds for me.

I can't argue with that.

But, clearly, I wasn't done here. Perhaps, when we are, they'll let us go back to do what we need to.

Like, if you weren't happy with how things were going back home?

Well, if they're gods, stands to reason they should be able to do just about anything.
theintermediary: (Hey look dynamite)

[personal profile] theintermediary 2012-10-19 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
You have a point there. Which also begs the question: if they're gods, why do they need our help?

Either way, would you stop helping if they weren't gods?
theintermediary: (What the fuck did you just do?)

[personal profile] theintermediary 2012-10-19 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Really? There's nothing at all you'd be willing to go back home for?
theintermediary: (Do you see this shit?)

[personal profile] theintermediary 2012-10-19 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, that makes sense. I suppose I'd feel the same way if that were my case.

Still, if they can send us home after all this, why not just ask if you can stay?
theintermediary: (Emo corner)

[personal profile] theintermediary 2012-10-22 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess that would defeat the purpose.

Maybe you should talk to those you want to stay with and see if they'd stay as well.

If your question is whether or not we return home where we left off: yes, as I understand it, we do without any recollection of our endeavors here.
If your question is if we win, will the gods grant us a favour of keeping our memories here: rather optimistic thinking you have there, that the gods even care enough to allow it.

I won't inquire further on that matter, then.
On another hand, I was speaking with someone once about not the possibility of winning this war and going home, but instead taking this place for ourselves. With that as an option, we could come and go as we wish.
It's a long shot, but certainly more ideal.

My you put a lot of faith in these gods and their ability to preform as polite, social creatures.

I'm not sure there's any such possibility to suss out, unfortunately.
Troublesome as that is.

Change would be nice. Big fan of changing my fate and not being... well, dead. But that would mean the gods have power outside of this world. Not sure that's a bet to hedge on.

They say that time stops while we're here. When we go back home, nothing's supposed to have changed.

You mean the gods?

I doubt it.

They don't really seem interested in doing things for our benefit. It's never really been like that here.

I wouldn't trust much that we're told, considering the situation. I do know that some of us have come and gone before, and while I don't remember my previous time here, I have been told that I seem much the same.

Why people would come and go like that before the war is over, I'm not sure. But it would imply that they have the power to send us back without changing anything.

I can't see why they would do such a thing. Even if they can, it seems unlikely that they would decide to do so. They don't seem to have a lot of respect for us, so unless your desire to change something benefits them in some way..?

Not if everything goes according to plan. Some of us have other agendas rather than going straight back home. Let's pretend that time really is stalled where we're from. What's the point of immediately rushing back if we can alter our path?
wasthemaster: (I'm suddenly confused)

[personal profile] wasthemaster 2012-10-22 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
So. Are you simply having the thoughts, or are you actually doing something about it?

Glad to hear it. If you manage to prove yourself, I might even be willing to share my notes.
