So, here's a question for anyone who might know the answer: What happens when all this is over? Let's pretend we win, and we're actually sent home - do we get dropped oh so conveniently back in the same spot considering we were so inconveniently taken, or do things change?

Since we've kind of done the world a favor in the end, I feel like we could ask for a favor in return, right?

I was thinking more along the lines of changing the way things are in our own worlds. Think gaggle of gods would be able to handle that?

Well, if they're gods, stands to reason they should be able to do just about anything.

You'd think, but I guess I doubt their ability to do much else other than kidnap people and stir things up in their own world. Doesn't seem like they've accomplished much else.

You have a point there. Which also begs the question: if they're gods, why do they need our help?

Either way, would you stop helping if they weren't gods?

Perhaps it'd be just the opposite; maybe I'd be more willing to help. Maybe if they couldn't send us back and we'd get to keep the things we have here, it'd be more worthwhile.

Sure, that makes sense. I suppose I'd feel the same way if that were my case.

Still, if they can send us home after all this, why not just ask if you can stay?

Maybe you should talk to those you want to stay with and see if they'd stay as well.

If your question is whether or not we return home where we left off: yes, as I understand it, we do without any recollection of our endeavors here.
If your question is if we win, will the gods grant us a favour of keeping our memories here: rather optimistic thinking you have there, that the gods even care enough to allow it.

On another hand, I was speaking with someone once about not the possibility of winning this war and going home, but instead taking this place for ourselves. With that as an option, we could come and go as we wish.
It's a long shot, but certainly more ideal.

I wouldn't trust much that we're told, considering the situation. I do know that some of us have come and gone before, and while I don't remember my previous time here, I have been told that I seem much the same.

Why people would come and go like that before the war is over, I'm not sure. But it would imply that they have the power to send us back without changing anything.

I can't see why they would do such a thing. Even if they can, it seems unlikely that they would decide to do so. They don't seem to have a lot of respect for us, so unless your desire to change something benefits them in some way..?
