[Since everyone's probably sick of people posting to the network to ask for information, and because Dean has Sam for all of that, here's a little breath of fresh air. And by breath of fresh air I mean Dean scowling at the network for a second before he raises an eyebrow in a silent inquiry. But silences never last very long with Dean around, so it's quickly followed by a verbal question.]

Who else is sick of being caught with their pants 'round our ankles?

[A shrug, as if it's a stupid question to ask.]

I think it's time to enact some sort of emergency planning for the next time disaster strikes.

Has someone chronicled what happened? I was with the elves and still trying to find out exactly what happened while I was gone other than 'everyone got sick'.

Not sure since data collection is more my brother's hobby. Might be good to get together some of the healers or doctors and try to find a way to at least stop stuff like that from spreading.

Uh, well. While that hasn't personally happened to me yet, I think I'd like to prevent it. For the sake of everyone everywhere. What did you have in mind?

Not sure. I'm more of an offense kinda guy, so I'm up for suggestions. But as far as a vague idea... Maybe just more preparedness? Like if people start gettin' sick again, we should have a quarantine area set up to keep it from spreading.

Of course, that'd be good if possible. One problem, and I suspect the reason we haven't done so yet, is that we have yet to have disaster strike in a predictable way, or even a single repeated way. Another problem is that not everyone likes to cooperate with such schemes.

There've been a couple sicknesses, though, so maybe some sorta catch-all? Maybe a quarantine area in Sigyn where there's the highest concentration of healers.

You really need to work on your analogies. [ Seriously. Have A Look. ] I think we're all doing what we can amidst the chaos. But I agree that we need a better plan. Some sort of tactics... team... thing...

I'm glad you mention it, though, [ a slightly amused quirk of his lips ] I'm not too sure what it's got to do with your trousers being down.

I have been speaking in private with a few trusted allies, and have since detailed the beginnings of a formal militia. I should be prepared to propose it to the city at large within the week.

[ no, not really. it's all done. he's just reluctant to enter a military state. ]

Sounds like something I might be interested in being a part of. Only problem is that some people may not take kindly to the idea. [If there's one thing that his profession has taught him, it's that some people just refuse to fight, even for their own lives.] Might help to suggest it along with something less... violent? I was thinking some sort of medical emergency plan.

Hey, I've been here-- [A pause, because he's been here... What, a year of normal Earth time? It's gotta be nearly that.] Been here a while, and we still don't have much in the ways of organized reaction or whatever.

[Shrug.] Quarantine? Poor man's militia? Something that'll help the strong protect the weak and yadda yadda.
