[It's been awhile since anyone has heard from this young woman. While everyone was getting sick and off to Utgard to run errands, Sora had lost her bracelet and just gotten it back. She...didn't know how long she was a native but even so, she should ask if anything important happened.]

I'm sorry but I wasn't here for a little bit. Could someone tell me if anything happened recently? I would very much appreciate it.

[Mariko is actually on the Freyan streets! And few minutes before going out, she had received the girl's message. So when she sees Sora not too far from her, she waits a little to look at her and make sure it's the same girl she saw in the feed, and once this is done walks up to her.]

Hey! You just asked for information on what happened, did you?

[Oh wow, that was really quick! And you caught her before she reaches the store.]

Y-yes I did.

[She then walks up to Sora as fast as she can.] Where would you like to start, then? The "illness" that had half of us in the hospital, or what it turned out to be in the end?

What I said. People started getting sick suddenly, and it seems it was some outsider's doing...

[By that point she's now reaching for her.] The worst has passed though, the cure was found, and all the victims are getting better now! And we all hope that it won't happen again.

[He's...never heard of easing things in, has he? All he's getting is weird noises and squealing at how she should've been around to help.]

[Oh... he could probably have eased it in if he'd thought of it. He hadn't expected such a reaction, but he has to admit this is not without its entertainment value regardless.]

Miss, I don't think one person more or less would have made a significant difference in a situation of this nature. Indeed, we should all be happy that you at least weren't in the initial radius and didn't become another victim to be treated.

Everyone got sick. [ Her eyes fill with tears as she remembers, but she shakes them off. Regina was lucky in that she got the cure in time, but she wasn't sure about the status of many of her friends. Did they...suffer worse than her? ]

Maybe it was destiny! Maybe the gods thought you should have a break. Or they were punishing you. I don't get why they'd do any of that, to be honest. [ More likely, it was simply random chance. But that's usually not fantastical enough for Regina. ]
