[Sara is sitting on her bed in Room 402 of Heimdall house when her bracelet comes on. When she's certain it definitely on, she starts a little, and then she gives a small smile.]

Hello. My name is Sara Mudou. Ah... The maid I talked to when I got here told me a little bit about where I am. They gave me a map, too. At least I won't get lost now.

[The smiles fades a bit and he gnaws her lip.]

But I still feel like there's a lot I wasn't told! I think I have an idea of where most things are, but if anyone could tell me anything they think I should know, I'd be grateful. Maybe I could give you something else, if I can think of anything. I don't have much, but we could try to find something. I'll try to repay you any way I can.

If anyone listening to this ever hears anything about a boy named "Setsuna", or a "Messiah", please tell me that, too. Please.

[She reaches up to finger a lock of hair with her free hand.]

Mmmmm, I want to know about all of you too! I think you can learn a lot about someone from what they like. So, I was wondering, what's your favorite thing about your home?

No, I'm not that kind of person at all! I don't like talking about that kind of thing where everyone can see it! To be honest, I was expecting a different type of answer.

If you want specific answers, you should ask specific questions.

I didn't know there was a school here.

There isn't but that doesn't mean we can slack off on our education.

Of course education is important, but I thought we were supposed to be preparing for war! I don't think it's a good time to worry about school.

Ah, hmmm, I guess you have a point about that!

It's our duty as the student council to help others, either way.

How many people are in your study council? Do you have a vice-president? How do you even work without a school?

I think we're at about twenty or so. I'd have to ask the secretary. No vice-president yet but we work because there isn't a school.

Where do you work?

I could send you a more detailed map, if you want. I made it when I first got here, and I've been updating it ever since other travelers started making their own businesses. The writing's pretty cramped, because I'm starting to run out of space, but most people can read it...

It's no problem at all. [She smiles shyly.] I just made it for myself, until I realized that other people could probably use it and uploaded a picture to my bracelet. I'll send it now...

[Like she promised, the print is small and cramped, and it's in both Japanese and Asgardian; it's tidy, though, and every business is accounted for with notes on price, quality, etc.]

Oh - of course, sorry. My name's Mako Nakarai, but you can call me Nakama. [She bows shallowly.] It's nice to meet you, Sara.

[Sara hesitates for a fraction of a second before she pushes it, then smiles when the map appears. Cramped or not, it's extremely helpful, and Sara is very grateful.]

Thank you so much! This map is amazing! You even have notes. [Big smile.] If you didn't mind, I'd be willing to help you make a bigger version of this. We could make it colorful and everything! Only if you wanted, though. I like it how it is.

[The smile softens.] It's nice to meet you too, Nakama. [She gets a shallow bow in return.] Why are you called that? If you don't mind me asking.

Oh... are you sure you wouldn't mind? [She blinks in surprise.] This is obviously just the map we got when we arrived... I've been thinking about redrawing it to better accomodate the notes, but I never got around to it. Some help would be - great, really.

[Then she grins a little.] That's a two-part story. It's mostly a play on my name - Nakarai Mako - but it's also a bit of a tease. I went to a summer Nature School with kids from all over the country, and everyone was kind of standoffish and nervous when they got there, but I insisted right away that we should all be friends. So when the teacher asked us to nickname one another, just as a sort of bonding thing, I got Nakama.

I wouldn't mind at all! [She gets an encouraging smile.] Then we can work on it together! I'm just glad you don't mind the help.

[Sara listens quietly, and smiles warmly.] That's a sweet story, Nakama. Are any of your friends here with you?

You caught me at a good time. [Returning the smile.] Before I came here, I wouldn't accept help on anything. But it's helped me to bond with friends, and I realize now that it isn't a bad thing or a sign of weakness.

[Her smile wilts a little, turns sad.] No, but that's a good thing. They have a lot to deal with back home, and the added pressures of being here would be too much. They're better off where they are.

No. It's not weak at all to need help. Everyone does sometimes. It's strong to be able to admit when you can't do something on your own. Mmmm, but in a way, I think I can understand why you felt that way. Sometimes I think I need too much help. I'd like to be able to do more than I can.

[She gives an encouraging nod.] Yes, that's right. You can fight for them while you're here. I'm curious to know what is happening in your home world, but I don't want to make you tell me if you don't want to.

Yeah, I - I guess you're right. [She tilts her head up a bit, giving her an encouraging look.] It's not so hard to learn to be independent. When you need to, you just will. No one can just let themselves waste away... you get strong when you need it.

[At the mention of her home world, her face darkens slightly.] It's in grave danger, and my friends are the secrets to saving it. That's all I'll say for now, because it's not a very nice topic.

Do you think so? [Sara is clearly thinking that over. She does smile at Nakama's encouraging look, though.] I think you're right. It's surprising what we can do when we need to. What we find inside of ourselves.

[Sara nods.] I understand. I hope your world will be safe, Nakama-chan.

Yeah, that's just it. There's a whole other side of every person that doesn't come out until it's needed. I've seen it before, in people you'd never think would do the right thing. I really believe that everyone can be brave if they have to.

[She quiets down for a moment after that speech, Sara's simple sympathy touching her more deeply than she really wants to show. She smiles quietly, nodding in return.] I have faith in my friends. They won't let the hard work of those of us who came before them go to waste.

My friends are my favorite thing about my home.

It's nice to meet you, Sara-san. I'm Inoue Orihime.

Friends are important! I think the people I care about are my favorite thing about my home, too. What are your friends like?

Orihime...! Ah, like from the Tanabata legend? That's a beautiful name! It's nice to meet you too!

Uhn! Mine are kind of noisy and rowdy, but they're a lot of fun, too! Even when they're arguing!

Eh heh, you recognized it! Most people here don't! But I'm glad! It's always nice to see someone from home!

[Giggles.] Noisy and roudy, huh? I bet you keep them out of trouble!

Are there not very many of us here?

Oh no! They'd get into trouble no matter what I did!

We're not in the majority, I don't think! There are a lot of people from other worlds, though!
