[The curse that had been laid on Lyon, more then angering him, troubled him. Heimdall had censored her, manipulated her words. Perhaps it might have been one of the other gods, but Heimdall seemed most likely, given he was her patron.
It felt wrong. It went against all his views on how one should treat their allies and those who follow you. The curses were always horrible... but censoring someone for their opinions nagged at him until he decided to pose a query over the bracelet network.]
'True loyalty means being able to speak openly about what you think is right and what you think is wrong.'
Someone very important to me... a commander of great skill and wisdom, once said these words to me and others. I believe his words and follow them still. They have served me well so far. I believe a leader must be open to hearing the opinions of those who follow them, their allies and their friends. Even those they might not ever agree with.
[They didn't have to follow what was said..... but to ignore the words of those around entirely seemed, to him, a prideful mistake. There was much to learn by hearing other's opinions.]
Tell me, Asgard, what is your view on loyalty?
[Later in the day, he decides to speak directly to the source of his problem. He wouldn't be as forceful as Lyon.... he would be careful. But he needed to speak. So he makes an attempt to contact him, not publicly, but privately.]
[attempt at a filtered message to Heimdall]
Might I speak with you?

Might I speak with you?

fuck you filters are for losers; action
You may.
Excellent. [action]
It might be a bit awkward, but it served his purposes.]
Good afternoon. Thank you for coming on such sort notice.
If it would be alright, I would like to first voice my apologies if my friend and bodyguard has caused you problems in any way.
[However, he wasn't saying she was wrong in her opinions, either.]
[action forever]
[ He pauses a moment. Awkwardly. ] But there's no need for any apologies.
[action forever]
[He pauses as well, curious in spite of himself.] No need?

I always thought it was just being there for somebody no matter what...
A child?]
That is part of it. But the 'no matter what' can also include being honest with that person if you think they might be making a mistake.
But if they do make a mistake, I think it's important to still stay by them and teach them how to make it better.

[Not that he disagrees entirely with what Frey's views were, but there were undeniably flaws to it.]

Perhaps. One can never predict what they might learn and what the future might bring, but I do not see that changing unless given a good reason.
[Every ideal has fallibility. But this one was one he felt he could believe in, and that would likely not be changing.]

[The latter was the worst means, because by then the damage had already been done.]

.. But.. loyalty also means sticking by someone's side no matter what, right? Even if things go back, you don't abandon someone. That's loyalty.
voice;
And Of course. I never said anything about abandoning anyone.

A man's worth can be greatest measured in his loyalty, be it to a lord or his family or simply an ideal. True loyalty knows how to bend without breaking.
