7th Rune [Video]

[The feed flicks on to reveal a rather irritated-looking Lyon.  However, the words out of her mouth and the cheerful tone she's using don't match the expression on her face whatsoever.]

You know, I was thinking... maybe I've been too quick to judge the gods and their motives.  I mean, they're making the best of a bad situation, after all.  Actually, it was really nice of them to let us have a say in what happens to our worlds in the first place.

[There's a pause as she grits her teeth, but only praise flows from her mouth when she opens it again.]

We should really be thanking them for everything they've done for us.  After all, it isn't as if they have to give us a place to live or food to eat, or even grant us these powers.  Maybe we should take this opportunity to try to understand them a little more instead of arguing with everything they have to say.

[A deep sigh and a cough.]

Just... think about it, all right?  We've all been a little too hard on them.

[At this point, she lets out a noise not unlike a growl before shutting off the feed.]

((OOC: Lyon's mouthed off on the feed one too many times, and it looks like Heimdall's finally had enough of it.  If anyone has ever heard the phrase 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all,' that's more or less what's going on here.  For the next week, whenever Lyon feels the urge to lecture someone, correct them in a harsh tone, disagree with something someone has said or even just complain about things, she will be able to utter only words of glowing praise in place of whatever it is she actually wants to say.))

[She has complicated feelings toward them herself, so she understands. Unfortunately, right now all she can do is praise them.]

They have our best interests in mind, I'm sure of it.

I would not claim their intents to be pure. I had not realised you were so devout, Lyon.

I think we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt. They've been around much longer than we have, after all.

[This is said through gritted teeth, but in no less pleasant a tone than she's been speaking with the entire time.]

[ robb's just ... helplessly idealstic and he forgets sometimes people don't view the world in the same light. ]

I'm fine. The gods have provided everything I need to stay in good health.

[Yeah, she looks pretty upset about this.]

You're very kind, but no, I'm all right. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I think we should appreciate what we've been given.

It is very gracious of you to spread worship amongst the network. Those are the sort of actions that boost morale.

The people here are good people, so I know they'll do the right thing and help the gods in the end.

Do you truly believe that everyone here is good? That the gods have selected only the righteous?

Of course. Why would they choose people who would work against them?

The gods have odd ways of working. Were the gods of your realm not like that?

[sparkling_eyes]

Well, yes... but it's still important to trust that they have our best interests in mind.

If they did, then why put us under so much grief?

It must have been the best way to help the war effort.

Aye. I suppose. Were you like this about the gods of your realm?

We didn't exactly have gods there.

[robb]

How can there be a realm without gods?

[sparkling_eyes]

Well, we have something like them. The True Runes.

[robb]

The true runes? You put your faith in stones?

[sparkling_eyes]

No, they're not stones. The True Runes are ancient mystical symbols of power. They can grant amazing powers to whoever wields them, but they also have a will and a mind of their own. The kingdom I come from was almost destroyed by the power of the Sun Rune just before I came here.

How powerful are these ruins if they can bring end to Queendoms? Do you use these runes?

I had one of them at home. It wasn't a true Rune, but it was still very powerful... it was called the Twilight Rune.
