[ action for thor district ]

[ Hey, remember how that old guy with the kitty beards was asking where his buddy was? Those out and about in Thor District tonight will be surprised to find said buddy wandering the streets. But if you've met him before, maybe on the networks, or back home ~~pointed glance at Kotetsu and Judge Petrov~~ you will notice that something's off. For example, have you ever seen Barnaby Brooks Jr. gripping a broken piece of 2x4 like that? Or at all?

But perhaps the most conspicuous detail to be observed is that his traveler's bracelet is missing.

He's spending some time with random groups of natives, but for the most part he's prowling on his own, but he's dangerous either way. ]

[ Kotetsu has taken to wandering around Thor District on a daily basis ever since Bunny's disappearance and today, despite the darkness and the odd, eerie feeling settling itself in the pit of his stomach, is no different. He's definitely not expecting to see Bunny when he catches a glimpse of those familiar curls, though, and has to double-take to make sure it isn't just his imagination.

He stares for a moment, not quite noticing the fact that his partner is carrying a 2x4, and grins. ]

Bunny! Bunny, you're alright!

[ Without really thinking about the possible danger, he charges forward and wraps his arms around his partner, pulling him close and nearly shouting for joy. ]

Of course I am.

[ Something's wrong with his voice. ]

I can take care of myself just fine.

[ Something's wrong with his voice. ]

Now let go of me, oji-san.

[ SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH HIS VOICE.

They're things Barnaby would say on any other given day, but his voice... distorted. Rippling with something other, something that is not Bunny.

He's already angry, and already pushing him off before his partner can let go of him. ]

[ The mere tone of Bunny's voice is what alerts Kotetsu to the danger immediately.

He knows Bunny.

He's used to his usual jabs and comments.

But that is not Bunny.

He lets go as he's shoved, stumbling backwards, but otherwise managing to stay on his feet. ]

B-Bunny ... ? Hey, what's wrong with you ... ?

[ By the time the words leave Kotetsu's mouth, Barnaby has already rounded on him and raised the 2x4, poised to strike. ]

I told you I'm fine. Quit worrying, old man!

[ He brings the block of wood around, going straight for the broad side of Kotetsu's skull. ]

[ Kotetsu backs away quickly, glancing at that 2x4 in Bunny's hands.

He doesn't get a chance to try and talk him out of it, before he's forced to duck with a yelp. He scrambles back, the 2x4 barely missing his head, but managing to knock the hat off his head. ]

H-Hey ... !

[ Barnaby isn't even listening to him anymore. He's not even fighting like Bunny- no kicks, no jumps, his energy is chaotic and his movement is unpredictable.

He just keeps swinging, and even if he got speed instead of strength, he's just as able-bodied (if not more so) as any other 27-year-old man in Asgard, and any hit that lands will do serious damage. ]

[ It's very much apparent now to Kotetsu, that Bunny is not his usual self. If he had any doubts a few minutes ago, they were gone now. This creature looked like Bunny, had his voice -- but not quite -- but wasn't him. Well perhaps he was, but that didn't matter right now. Bunny was attacking to kill and Kotetsu needed to defend himself.

He braced himself, preparing to activate his hundred power only to realize a second too late that he didn't have it anymore.

A strangled cry escaped him as the 2x4 hit its mark, landing a blow against his skull that forced him to crumple to the ground. ]

Sh-Shit ... !

[ Barnaby doesn't stop there. He showers blow upon blow down on him, and he isn't showing any signs of slowing down. He didn't even flinch at the sound of wood meeting hard bone, the cry that leaves his partner's lips.

If you don't try to defend yourself, it's very possible that he's going to kill you, Kotetsu. ]

[ Kotetsu covers his face quickly, trying to protect himself from the blows raining down upon him without end. He grits his teeth, trying to ignore the pain of it, the snap of one, maybe two of his ribs and waits.
When a small opening presents itself, Kotetsu rolls out of the way and onto his feet, aiming a seemingly wild, but precise fist to Bunny's head. He may be wheezing and in pain, but he's not going down that easy. ]

[ He's ignoring the cracking noises he's causing- until the fist connects with his head. When he rights himself, he's angry. ]

What the fuck, Kotetsu... I thought we were past this...

[ He charges him again, this time aiming for his knees. He's faster now, swinging hard and letting the sharp crack of the 2x4 against a kneecap ring out unnoticed by him.

We are ... ! But you're not yourself!

[ He tries to dodge, but again, Bunny's too fast for him and Kotetsu doesn't have the Hundred Power to help. His knee crumples under him, and Kotetsu lets out a sharp cry. ]
