[The screen flickers and Alto appears on the feed, looking at it with a somewhat stern expression on his face. There's an origami paper plane in his hand and he's toying with it absently. He's obviously been thinking about this for a while, and he addresses the feed after a few seconds.]

Do we have a defense system here?

Considering all that happens here, shouldn't we have some sort of defense force, like a military, to both defend the city and help with emergency response?

[OOC: Feel free to tell him about the meeting that will be happening, as he doesn't ICly know about it yet. He'll be going, though. As usual, he needs a boot to the arse.]

[Alto is a bit surprised to see a child appear on the video feed, but his surprise that there is no defense force in the city masks it. His eyebrows furrow slightly and he frowns. Something needed to be done about this.]

Yeah. I was a fighter pilot for the SMS Skull Squadron back home, and briefly in the NUNS military as a fighter pilot too.

[He's a bit bewildered, especially since Ranka had said she'd been here for a few months. And all that time they hadn't had any sort of security or defense? It made him a little angry, in fact, but he pushed that back. He was very protective of Ranka.]

Looks like we might have to do something about that, though. Sooner rather than later.

[He blinks, not entirely prepared for that question. There were events he'd only heard about aside from the events he'd been part of while he'd been here. All the better to get something sorted out before something else happened.]

There was a flood and apparently a dragon caused some fires when the Travelers first arrived, among other things. I wasn't here then. The letter says we're here to bring colour back to the world and how the fate of the world rests on us.

It's an acronym for Strategic Military Services. It's more a private army than a branch of the military, really.

We should have some defense here anyway, shouldn't we? Those are just a couple of examples of what has happened, which means it could happen again. We should be prepared for it when it does.

While having a defense force would be of benefit to a number of the people, you should remember that what qualifies as a defense force varies in opinion from person to person.

Yeah, but we should be prepared for the worst in some form or another so we can protect ourselves. It's happened before, it'll happen again. There are people here that I want to protect.

Opinions about the issue aside, we should have something in place. If not a defense force, then an emergency squadron or something.

[Alto and Nezumi are clearly from two different worlds. Alto sees no problem with it simply because his world's government and defense forces are there for the people. He's not aware this isn't the case in other worlds.]

Our hosts are not known for their kindness and hospitality, so a defense force would likely have to be formed from the citizens of Asgard. You don't see a problem with that?

Well yeah, obviously the defense force would have to be comprised of citizens of Asgard. They'd have to follow rules of conduct and know basic first aid or combat skills. Where's the problem?
