Chapter 3 ✒ Video
[Castle's got a look on his face like the cat who ate the canary. This is never good.]
So when I heard about the upcoming Traveler Fest, I knew that I had to offer my talents in some way. I'm pleased to announce that during the Fest, I will be doing a live reading from my latest work Heat Rises, the third book in my wildly successful Nikki Heat series. Nikki Heat, of course, is based on someone we all know and love...
[He smirks because he knows Kate is going to kill him. And no, he's not sorry.]
Additionally, I'll be signing copies of my books after the reading, which will be available for purchase. I'm planning on donating a portion of the proceeds to the Forensics Unit, so that they can continue their efforts to make Asgard a safer place for us all.
Long story short: my rich baritone voice reading an excerpt from a bestselling mystery novel, which also happens to have been written by me. Traveler Fest. Be there.
[Yes, Castle thinks this is important enough to make an announcement about and he's incredibly happy with his decision to participate in Traveler Fest. He hopes that by giving a pre-annoucement about it, it will help to draw a crowd to his stall.]
[private to Beckett]
So. How about that date?

So. How about that date?

[Perma Audio]
You're the author of that series? [ Being the massive book reader she is, she's weirdly surprised to have actually an author here in Asgard. ]

[That's his real job. Following Beckett around he technically does for free.]

My father's a best-selling mystery author too.

You're not serious. Tell me you're not serious.
[Yeah you're going to have to calm her down a bit before she starts talking about that date there, Castle.]

[Yeah he's going to play dumb for a minute.]

[ ᴠıᴅᴇᴏ ]
That's a good title. A clever title. But I've never heard of people reading books out loud for entertainment. What's the point?
[ ᴠıᴅᴇᴏ ]
Two-fold. One, readings are often dramatic and can sometimes be performed almost like a monologue. Two, you pick the selection carefully, as it's supposed to generate interest in the book. People want to know what happens next, so they buy they book.
