Teasure 009 ❊ Action/Video Grimoire’s Sigil guild hall in Freyr

[Aladdin is sitting down surround by a couple of books. He seem to be writing something down concentrating on his task. Just as he put his book down to glance at another book, a grey figure came lumbering in. There isn't anything too unusual about the figure except for the odd bit of hair sticking up like a horn. The child looks up and gives a sad smile before leading the figure back to one of the rooms in the guild hall. Once he made sure his friend was safe and sound. He decides it's a good time to tell everything the prince of Balbadd is safe. It would also be a good time to find out more what he was researching.

He takes a deep breath before turning on his bracelet]

Hello everyone, if you’re looking for Alibaba he’s safe here in the guild hall. Unfortunately he’s not well, somehow he’s lost his bracelet and the grey has overtaken him. I almost didn’t find him if it wasn’t for his hair. I’m keeping him here for now, he’ll be keeping Sinbad company.

[ He pauses when he notices the lion in question coming going by his room. Currently dragging Alibaba off somewhere in the hall.]

Looks like Sinbad will be over out for him.

Oh yes. I have questions for anyone that’s had an individual curse place on them. Conan and I have come up with a theory about them. So I need all the information I can get on them. I'll be here at the guild until later tonight, since I have work to do later if you need me.

[Then he gives a little wave before turning off the feed.]

Your grey friend, Alibaba. Do you think he'd mind if I examined him?

I am a doctor, and curious to examine one who has lost their colour recently. I believe it could be beneficial to our understanding of the grey citizens condition.

I'm sure Alibaba wouldn't mind, mister. Since it's for a good cause and he probably wouldn't want to end up grey again.

We're in Freyr district, mister. We're right near the Draupnir, in a build with the sign Grimoire's Sigil over it.

I shall join you presently. My colleague might join us -- would that be a problem? I can vouch for his professionalism.

Again it is no problem at all, mister. [He goes to wait outside. It shouldn't be hard to miss a little kid with bright blue hair.]

[It certainly isn't. Watson arrives promptly, holding his hand out in greeting as he recognises Aladdin from the video feed.]

Aladdin, I take it? I am Doctor John Watson.

That's me, it's nice to meet you, Dr. Watson. [He gives the man a firm handshake before leading him inside.]

[Watson returns the handshake, glancing around as he makes his way inside. There are traces of the presence of a large animal and he is rather concerned for Sinbad's safety should he attract the attention of either Holmes or Moran.]

This is your guild headquarters? From what I gather you intend to study -- magic?

We study sorts of magic, Dr. Watson. Currently I'm looking into the curses people get here.

[He leads the man into the red room. Alibaba is standing near a table not to far from a sleeping Sinbad.]

Curses ... you do not include your friend Alibaba in that category?

I'm not sure if the grey is a curse or an illness. It's likely a combination both. I don't a lot of knowledge on medicine.

I do know a few of the traits of it that are purely magical.

Purely magical? Would you mind explaining exactly what you mean by that?

I'm mostly thinking of how the grey effected everything, not just anything living. It also effected the food, builds, and even the sky.

That is certainly true. For my part, I have noticed that my grey patients are no different than those with colour in terms of pulse and other basics, though their reflexes are much diminished.

Do they eat as well? Alibaba hasn't eaten anything in a while and he's moving about.

My patients take meals, go to work, follow a daily routine regardless of their lack of colour -- but there is no ... purpose to it. They simply go through the motions.

[Aladdin signs in relief, at least that's one thing he doesn't need to worry about.]

Then that what he's been doing.

How long has Alibaba been in this state?

I'm not sure, exactly but I found him a four days ago. I saw him when right after the guild meeting.

It may have happen those two days in between.

So four, possibly as long as six days ... [Watson pauses to make a note.]

What Welcome Hall does your friend live in and do you happen to know his power?

He's in Heimdall with Damage Drain.

I see. Well, all that remains now is for me to examine the patient.

The other...founder was the one who own him at first. When Judal left, Sinbad ended up staying here.

It took a bit of time but I do like him. One of our other members takes good care of him and adores him.

[Adores? That's not good. Better make sure that Holmes doesn't hear about this.]

I see. I imagine you'd be loathe to part with him.

I'm sure Regina would be heartbroken if that happened.

[Yeah, Holmes is definitely not hearing about this.]

Indeed.

Well, I have no further questions. I'll start my examination now.

[And giving the sleeping Sinbad a rather sceptical look, Watson's going to start taking his equipment from his doctor's bag and get started. Taking Alibaba's pulse, checking his heart, breathing, reflexes ... it's all very standard and Watson is crisp, practiced and obviously used to this.]

I've had an individual curse before. What do you want to know?

Describing the kind of curse you were under would be a good start.

My body was changed, like what happened the other couple of days, but it was changed into someone from back home. It lasted for a week.

You were under transformation based curse then. You took the form of someone you knew.

[There's a long pause where she just stares.]

Yeah, it felt completely different. I was a boy! My hair was hanging in my face all the time, and I had to wear glasses, and... [A deep, deep blush.] Well, it was just different.

...At least you know what a boy's body is like. I can sort of imagine what being a girl is like, when I was cursed I sort of lost my thing.

I'm just making sure it was just an illusion placed on you. Sometimes that happens.

Oh, okay. So I'd look different to myself and others, but still be me?

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Well, my mind and thoughts and stuff stayed the same. But my body... was definitely different.

If your mind was same, it wasn't a complete transformation either. Just a near complete one.

I need to ask were you close to the person you turned into?

That's... complicated. I barely knew him, and I didn't like him at all, but - we went through something really life-changing together, and that made him an important person to me. Everyone who was part of that group is, regardless of what I thought of them.
