Um, hi everyone...

[This is far from the strident, angry voice that spoke last time she was on the network. Nakama sounds nervous, almost fearful, and there are bright spots of red on each cheek as she speaks.]

So, um, some of my friends know that I wanted to get into designing more seriously, and I've been working on some sketches, but I finally found one that looked okay and decided to give it a try.

[She sets the bracelet down on her desk and backs up, revealing a dark pink dress which she's paired with a single string of pearls for the sake of display.]

What do you think? Does it look alright? Rarity, Kanaya, I'd especially like to hear from you, but anyone else who can suggest any improvements or anything is more than welcome. I need constructive criticism to get better, right?

Um... thanks. In advance. 'Bye.

[And the feed shuts off.]

Looks alright, I guess. You making it for someone?

Oh - no, I'm just practicing. It's hard to know how things will look in real life when you've only got them on paper, so I thought I'd sew this one up just to see.

Hm. Well, it works I guess. With pearls and stuff. You're not bad at sewing.

[Her face lights up even worse, and she smoothes her hands over the dress nervously.]

Really? I mean... thank you. I've been doing it for almost four years now, and I used to spend all my free time sewing, so I've got a lot of practice.

Huh. Yeah, I never sewed before or anything. Not bad.

You gonna try this in different colors too?

Ah... that'd get a bit expensive, what with the price of fabric. I chose this colour because it was on sale, honestly. But if I ever get good enough to sell things, then I could do ranges of colours and stuff like that.

Oh, how cute! You've got quite a bit of talent to make something that looks so well made at such a young age. ♥

[And Yuuko thinks to herself that it would look cute on a girl like Sakura. Pink is the color that just suits that girl best in her mind. But the praise aside, she did ask for criticism, so!] It's a bit plain, though, I would say... Though I'm a fan of quite elaborate couture sorts of pieces.

Oh, Nakama! [she looks so excited] It looks lovely! I simply adore that neckline!

Oh - thank you, Yuuko. I've been practicing for a long time. [Her face heats up even more.

Then she glances down at the dress, nodding thoughtfully.] It is a bit plain, yeah... I just didn't want to overstep myself on my first try. Once I get better, I'll try more fancy stuff.

Have you met Rarity? She makes the kinds of things you would like, really elaborate dresses and things.

Rarity... thank you so much. [She looks totally overwhelmed that such a great designer would give her that kind of praise.] I don't like spaghetti straps, but thick straps are sort of boring to sew, so I just played around with shapes until I found one that I liked.

You're very welcome! It is far more visually appealing than a simple strap, I agree. It also brings in the eye in just the right direction!

Does it? [Blink blink. Apparently she done good - that was just an experiment.] What do you think of the colour? I bought it because it was on sale, but I don't really wear a lot of pink... does it look okay on me?

Oh. [ Right, you had to buy fabric. ] You gonna sell this one then?

Oh, it's not good enough to sell! I'll just hang onto my first few pieces, see what I do well and what I need to work on. Studying your own work is really important in sewing.

Huh. I wouldn't know, I don't really sew. [ Or do anything, really. ] Looks as good as a lot of dresses I've seen though.

Do you know how to make other things too?

It's hard to see the flaws if you don't sew, but this was made pretty quickly and from my own pattern, so it's got a few problems. I might wear it if there's another party, but I wouldn't sell it to anyone.

I... probably could, with the right pattern. I've done patchwork on drapes, tablecloths, all kinds of things. I just mostly work with clothes, especially now with my job at a tailor's.

Nice. It'll make a great present for Roxas.
