[When the device turns on, Finnick seems to be different. Instead of the goofy and cheerful smile he normally has on, he seems a little more serious. His brows are knit and he is leaning on the wall next to the door. Despite looking more grave, there is a flush of color to his skin that there wasn't before. He also seems to be more alert.]

So, since Annie is resting I had some spare time I thought I would say something and make this very clear. Shes from my district, and she's special. Don't upset her.

[He looks over his shoulder back towards the door, his fingers pressing to the barrier his eyes softening for a split second. Finnick looks right back at the device putting on his famous award winning smile.]

Also, please don't try to confuse her anymore. I'm sure you remember what it was like showing up here for your first day, right? So, just leave her all to me.

[He gives a wink and waves towards the camera before turning it to private.]

I know that you guys don't trust me all that much because you don't remember as much as I do. But, please for Annie's sake, don't upset her any more than she is already. She's scared, confused, and she really needs people there for her.

It's just hard to believe when it's nothing something I can remember. You have to understand that, Finnick.

But, I don't blame anyone. I just don't want her to further slip away because of this. You understand that, right? She has a chance to heal up better than if we were back there.

It's different being on this side of things though, hearing about things that haven't happened yet. That part, you don't understand.

I understand that, but I'm not going to lie to her and tell her that I remember something when I don't. I feel like that would only make things worse. [ While normally, he wouldn't be quite so opposed to lying to someone, he feels that lying to Annie would only hurt her more than help her ]

I'm not asking you to lie. I'm asking you to be there for her and to be a little more gentle with her. Lying would only make her hate this place-

[His breath hitches, and he licks at his lower lip sighing.]

She really has a chance here Peeta. If there is a group of people that would understand this, it's You, Katniss and Rue.

I'm already trying to do what I can for her, Finnick. I know that I reacted badly to what Annie said, but hearing about something that just hasn't happened for me yet really caught me off guard.

You expect everyone to cradle her?

No. I expect people to try not and confuse her. I don't have to worry about her normally, but this isn't home and she needs to get used to things.

What do you mean by "confuse" her?

[He could tell him about himself, Annie and the others. But, why should he call attention to any of those from his world by talking about the Capitol or the Hunger Games? Instead he gives a small smile uneasy smile.]

Annie is easy to confuse. Something happened in our world, and she retreats into her mind when things get to be too much. I'd like her to stay with us for as much of the time as she can.

[Now isn't that familiar?]

That sounds like cradling to me.

I never said to lie to her did I? Lying would hurt her more than anything. But willfully hurting her would make whoever did it, a very large bully.

Sometimes reality hurts far more than any wound.

I think you're misunderstanding my motives here. Annie will know the truth, but instead of pushing everything on her now, I'm going to make sure she isn't hurt.

[He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.]

I just need to explain things to her to where they are understood well. Understand? If a stranger says something she doesn't understand, it might hurt her even worse.

I want her to have a chance to heal.

[Last time he waited to tell someone everything like that, he got slapped, okay.]

[He pauses, a little surprised by not really. That had been the deal back home too. She was more open than he was about his personal information.]

I see you've been talking to Annie.

We spoke briefly. She was quite open.

She can be.

[He smiles and looks away, back to the door she was behind.]

That's what is so amazing about her.

No need to gush.

[Smirks.]

[He smiles, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes this time.]

Why would anyone want to upset her? She seemed very nice, to me.

She is. She's very special to me, and so I just want to protect her.
