[At first all that can be seen is a gaping mouth, sharp teeth and a great tongue blocking the view as the ~~four-months-older-than-he-is-in-this-pic~~ Sir Frewen grabs hold of Lancelot's bracelet. With a quick firm command of 'no!' he backs away however and the dog can be seen wagging his tail expectantly. Lancelot looks intently at the screen trying to figure out what exactly it is that has been triggered, while the dog moves to pull at his sleeve, barking in an attempt to regain his attention. His hair and shirt are slightly messy and he is short of breath, but despite the confusion and embarrassment his face is still lit up in exhilaration at the game that has been taking place only seconds before.

And then he runs a hand through his hair, trying to straighten it out as he realizes that more likely than not - people can see him now.]

Should anyone hear this - please forgive me this intrusion, I will be sure to be more careful in the future.

[He hesitates for a moment, uncertain whether he should be saying anything else, but if he's appearing before the network anyway as he suspects he is, he might as well introduce himself.]

My name is Lancelot, I am new to Asgard. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has kindly and patiently explained this city to me, and extend an offer to all citizens of the city be them old or new - if there is anything I can assist you with you need only ask. I have been placed in the house of Heimdall but I reside in the district of Thor, and I can also be reached in the Citadel should anyone wish to learn the use of the crossbow.

[With a sharp motion he moves the bracelet just as the dog makes to pounce on it again.]

[Shrugs and then an otherwise pleasant smile, but there's a bit of a savagery to it]

[Gil just keeps on going with logic that's bizarre even in his own universe.]

Hmm...well. There are more than a few significant differences between the two Camelots. I cannot say what those of you who hail from the other will become, if anything at all.

But it will be interesting to see what happens, regardless of whether it produces Heroic Spirits or not.

[He feels like he's landed into the middle of a conversation and is just desperately trying to catch up to its beginning.]

[The King of Heroes? If he wasn't as polite as he is he would roll his eyes at the title. Instead he bows his head respectfully.]

At least neither Camelot has forgotten its chivalry, it would seem.

The Camelot of my world is far from forgetting. I do not think Arthur would ever allow it.

Neither of them would, truthfully. It's never dull, watching their ideals crush them.

I beg your pardon?

[That is not something meant for anyone's amusement and Camelot's ideals are noble and worthy and are what keep it safe, in his mind.]

[Of course, of course...but watching that whole tragic train-wreck actually makes him feel human emotions again. Tragedy is sexy]

The truth is, your nobles are the pinnacle of humanity at its finest and most pure. Many try to duplicate it, but all fall short of it.

The problem is that your ideals are too perfect, and humankind is fragile. They can only break under the weight of such a lofty ideal.

That is nothing but a cowardly excuse to avoid the hard work of keeping them. They can be kept. In Camelot - they are kept.

For most of mankind...indeed. They struggle for nothing more than mere existence.

But her ideals mean becoming more than human...something more. I never grow tired of watching it.

[Her. Oh he sees what this is about.]

We cannot be more than human, but we can be the best under our own human limitations.

Ah, but that's just it! She became more than human, purged her human frailty because the only sort of King who could lead her people to utopia must be beyond that frailty.

[Chuckles softly]

She'd been broken once before...yet, she climbed out of that despair to reach for something that could grant her wish. She's simply wishing for the wrong thing.

I cannot know what you speak of from these hints, I am not of your world.

[Ever the straightforward man.]

There appear to be a great number of differences, of course -- most notably that your king is male -- but more than a few interesting similarities. Most notably, you share ideals. Doubtless why she gets along with you so well.

Perhaps she even means to guide you.

[Chuckling]

She can't not be a King, no matter how much she wishes to change that.

I fail to see the humor. Ideals are to be celebrated.

Quite true, quite true. But here's the rub: when one's ideas exceed mere human capability, either the person believing in them breaks or the ideals do...the little King of Knights notwithstanding.

[Pauses for a moment]

Tell me...do you believe in destiny, that everything happens in accordance with some unchanging plan?

I do not. We change our lives every day.

[A slow grin spreads across his face, and he claps]

Excellent! That is why your legends stand above all others; rather than meekly accepting your fate, you forge your own. It would seem that Camelot itself is almost the same no matter which world it exists within.

It stands to reason, if there is one thing that fate, worlds, Gods, and everything else cannot possibly bend - it's Camelot.

[Chuckling]

So it would seem. Even the 'gods' bear no true relation to any god of any other world. They are a poor constant.

I would say that you and yours are more worthy of the title...though there are better things to be than 'gods'.
