[The feed is at first filled with static and the sounds of the device being knocked around. But eventually, words start to filter through.]

[And the person seems to figure it out, so the deep, resonant voice laughs jovially]

Aha, here we go! What an odd little thing indeed... I admit, it's taken me almost a full day to figure out this little bracelet. It seems better for a lady than myself, I have to say.

[He laughs again. Cheerful guy, for just getting dumped somewhere strange.] Well! It seems a new day has risen for us, and it still remains. I suppose that crosses out the possibility of it being a strange dream, eh? So hello, those of you that may hear me! I confess that I do not know to whom I speak, but I suppose it matters little! I am Alexander III of Macedon, though I would prefer to be called Rider for now. I am in the house of Thor and from what I understand, is quite fitting for me!

Ah, but that said, I am curious and pose a question to all of you--I have seen quite a few strange ones wandering around, so what sorts of places do you all hail from? From the looks of you, it seems like quite the variety!

Oh.. I've never been outside Japan, so.. um, I don't think I know much about it. [ for a moment there's some slight dejection, but it quickly turns more into thoughtfulness. ]

What is the Persian desert like..?

And I have only come to visit Japan recently, so we are even there, hm?

It is hot and dry, of course, but there's more than that. There's golden sand as far as you can see, and the heat makes the air shimmer like water. The sky is so brilliantly blue there that it would seem impossible for it to exist. But in that golden abyss are cities that are full of strange and beautiful things which can't even be described. People with skin the color of obsidian and copper, speaking a language that sounds like music, buildings decorated to seemingly impossible amounts of detail... Persia is a beautiful place.

[ ... ] If you need to know anything about Japan, then.. j-just ask me, okay? [ she's still a little bit nervous, but she likes to be helpful, after all. ] I won't mind telling you! ... Although, I haven't been to many places in Japan..

[ she's sort of in awe at his story though. ]

That almost sounds like a fairytale!

It does sound like one, doesn't it? Ha, I was the one to visit the place, and it still feels like it was unreal telling it! It's quite a different place from Macedon and Greece.

And from Japan, of course. Ahh, but your offer is very kind! I may have to take you up on it, for I am quite ignorant to all its customs. I think I'm lucky to have a companion who is fairly ignorant as well!

Hmm, I'd like to see it too sometime! [ except there's not really such a thing as Persia anymore, but Nanako doesn't know that.. ] I've never been to a real desert before.. hmm, but I don't think we have any of those in Japan.

[ she giggles. ] That's okay! I can teach you everything you have to know! Like.. um, when you go inside a house, you should take off your shoes first..!

From the maps that I looked at, no, not at all! Though it's probably for the best. The desert's quite a brutal place. It's amazing that anyone could live there at all!

Hou, is that so? I had not heard of it before! Why is that, may I ask?

B-brutal? But you've gone there and came out, right..? Even though it's such a harsh place? [ that's pretty cool to her.

she frowns a little at his question though, as if she's not completely sure, but then nods a little to herself instead. ]

I think it's so the floor doesn't get dirty as easily.. but I was just taught it's the polite thing to do.

Ha, many a time, yes! But I lost many fine men doing it, and sometimes was close to death myself. It is a place for the strong!

I see. That does make sense! I will try to observe it when I return. Are there other things I should know about?

Oh no! Did people really d-die there..? [ her expression turns a little sad - dying is not good. ] I feel sorry for them..

[ she pauses for another moment to think about that. ]

Did you ever try eating with chopsticks before?

They did, but they died as they wanted! It is much more honorable to die in the sands amongst your own than to die a boring, but peaceful way in your homeland. Besides that, they still live on, in a way. I will never forget any of them, after all!

Ahh, those eating sticks, you mean? I did indeed try, but they were much too small for my hands! It was much easier to just grab food with my hands. Though luckily, I do not need much to eat. I mostly eat for the fun of it.

Hmm.. I didn't know that.. [ she seems a little interested even with the slight dejection though - she's learning something new about death, after all, and she's been curious about the afterlife and all for a while now.. ] Do you think they got to go to heaven, then..?

Y-you don't have to eat..?! But everyone has to eat, right? Otherwise you might starve from hunger!

Certainly! Or at least, their idea of heaven. Even I do not know much of death and what lies beyond, but I do know that the men that fell beside me are quite happy now. That much is a fact.

Ah, well... It's a bit complicated! And I can't really explain everything about it, I'm afraid. But think of me as a spirit, and that might make sense? A ghost would not need to eat, right?

Well, as long as they're happy.. then it's.. probably good, right? [ she ponders for a moment if she should tell a strange this but, hmm.. if they're on the subject, might as well.. ] My mom died too, so.. I really hope she's happy too.

A spirit..? Y-you're like a ghost? A scary one..?

I am sorry for your loss, little one. It is hard to lose a parent. But I am sure that she is happy! If there is kindness in someone's heart, I believe that they are rewarded for it once they pass.

Well, that depends on what you think, I suppose! I don't think of myself as particularly scary, but I imagine some might disagree with that!

I-it's okay. There was always a whole lot of kindness in mom's heart, mister! She was the best mom I could have ever had! [ even from the way she talks it's easy to hear how proud and fond she was of her mother, no matter how young she was when she died. ]

Hmm.. I don't think you're really scary.. You seem a little nice to me, but I have never met any other ghosts before, so I don't think I can compare..

I am not surprised! A parent's best attributes are passed to their children, so I would guess that your parents are upstanding to have raised a kind and helpful girl like you!

Ahh, they aren't really scary. I mean, some are, but any other "ghosts" like me that you meet here, they're good fellows. If you meet a noble looking woman who calls herself Saber or a man calling himself Lancer, they're the same kind of ghost as me! They're very honorable, I promise!

K.. kind and helpful..? Me? [ she looks a little surprised - glad to hear it, really, but just surprised a stranger would tell her that. after the initial surprise she settles on a bright smile though. ] Thank you..!

Oh, so there's a whole group of you. And you're all friends? [ hmm.. ] That actually sounds like fun.

Of course! You were willing to help me learn about Japan and all its ways, which I am quite grateful for!

Ah, but friends... I suppose we are, in a way! We are at least understanding of each other, to an extent.

Well, I'm just really glad when I can help people out.. It gives a really warn and nice feeling inside, right?

[ a giggle. ] It's good to be friends! Especially if you're all spirits, since that means you can understand each other.

It does indeed! Almost as nice as the feeling at the end of a won battle, but I imagine you have no experience with that one! And it's better that way as well!

I agree, absolutely. They may be a bit more hesitant, but they're just a bit set in their ways, is all. Nothing to fault them for.

Ehehe, no, I.. don't really know that feeling.. [ she giggles, slightly sheepishly. ]

Oh? They didn't want to be your friends at first?

Ahh, they did not at all, no! Though I suppose I did interrupt their battle...

But interrupting a battle isn't a bad thing, right? ... Um, I mean.. battles aren't always good, so maybe it was.. for the best? [ she frowns, as if she's not entirely sure. ]

I think it ended up being for the best in the end! They may disagree, but if I had not interrupted, they surely would have fallen there. That would have been a shame! I would not have gotten to meet either!

Oh.. Yeah! It would have been bad if they had fallen. I mean.. it hurts a lot when you fall and hit yourself on the ground!
