TWO | ACTION/ACCIDENTAL VIDEO?
[so he heard that Gefion Park was a popular place! back home he liked taking a break from his knightly duties by laying out in the nearby forest, enjoying the sunshine. so he thinks exploring the park might be fun! maybe he'll even find a place he could relax like he did back home.
while walking in the park he notices he's being followed. by a small white rabbit.]
Ah... hello there, little one. [he crouches down to offer his hand for it to sniff] Do you live here? [the rabbit sniffs his hand but then... takes a little chomp on his finger]
O-Ow.. ah, are you hungry? While I may not be food, I may be able to find you some. Uh.. i-if you'd like. [the rabbit looks up at him & castor takes this response as permission to pick the fluffy thing up in his arms
SOOOO now he is wandering the park with a white bunny in his arms! feel free to approach!]

SOOOO now he is wandering the park with a white bunny in his arms! feel free to approach!]

Action
[he noticed the way the other handles the horse & he looks curious] Do you raise horses?
Re: Action
Izzat yours? [He smiles a little as the bunny starts cleaning itself, the very image of cuteness.]
[At the question, he laughs a little, turning his attention back to the blonde, rather than the bunny.]
I was born an' raised on a farm. We had horses, cows, pigs, chickens... All kinds o' animals. An' uh... plants, o' course.
[He turns to the mare, gently rubbing her neck. She seems to have relaxed now, nosing his face and trying to chew on his shirt.]
Ahah.. I think this one's hungry.. [He gently shoves her face away, only to get an earful of horse-nose anyway. Now that she's calm, she's determined to eat his suspenders.] I should prolly git her somethin' t' eat. I'll feed y' in a minute, filly. Settle.
[Having had enough of the mare chewing on him, he bends over to grab a handful of grass, offering that to her. She sniffs at it, but seems totally uninterested.]
[He offers one of his hands to the stranger in greeting, ensuring his other hand is firmly on the reigns.] I'd better git her back t' th' corral... Thanks again fer helpin'! [He turns to go, but then looks back as if he suddenly remembered something.] O-oh! 'm Shou, by the way. [If the stranger doesn't stop him, he leads the mare back to where she belongs.]
Action
I see, that sounds rather fun. We've never really had animals like that in Arcadia. The city was much too big & busy for them. But you seem really good with them.
[he offers a friendly smile when shou introduces himself] Ah! I'm Castor. [he bows his head] It is nice to meet you. Would you like me to come with you to bring her back?
Action
[He offers his own slightly-nervous laugh.] Tha's kinda funny... I can't seem t' git th' hang o' cities! 'm always gettin' lost... [The horse nudges him with her head hard enough to make him stumble, but he catches himself before totally losing his balance. He shoots her a look.]
's good t' meet you, too! [He seems thrilled with getting this far in a social interaction. Having someone trying to engage with him is very helpful. After all, he doesn't come off too standoffish or cold, just kind of awkward.] If y' wanna come to th' corral, I'll take ya. [He gestures over his shoulder to the pen where the horses for carriage rides are kept, off in the distance.]
[If Castor is favorable, Shou will start leading the horse and taking a leisurely pace, so as not to leave his new acquaintance behind.]
Took me a while t' git used t' this. [He gestures to the mare's legs. She has eight of them!]
Th' horses back home only got four o' those. [He scratches his chin thoughtfully.] Wonder if birthin' 's any different...
no subject
That is still very interesting! [follow follow] We only had horses with four legs as well. I wonder how this works...
no subject
[He removed the bridle from the mare, scratching behind her ears and under her forelock where the straps had no doubt been rubbing her. She seemed to enjoy the attention, nosing his hand as he pulled it away.]
Alright, filly, go git some food... [He gently swatted her flank, sending her trotting over to the barn, outside of which was a trough of water and several bales of hay.]
Y' ever brushed a horse? [He asked this suddenly, as if it were an enjoyable activity.] They really like it when y' take th' time t' brush 'em. If uh.. if y' like th' horses, I can show ya.
I know y' said y' didn' really have any back home... So y' don' have to! [He was obviously eager to please, but it was also obvious that he gained enjoyment out of caring for the horses. Social isolation had made him predictably fond of animals.]
no subject
Ah, no... [he blushes sheepishly, rubbing his arm. it was a squire's job before they became a knight but castor was a special case & managed to skip that stage so he never got a chance] I would love to give it a try, if that is alright.
[he smiles warmly at the taller boy] You seem to really understand horses. That's very admirable.
no subject
[Once inside, Castor would find that there was horse tack hung on all available walls, along with a few saddles for personal riding, but mostly it was hitches for the carriages. One hitch had broken. It was up on a sawhorse, surrounded by tools. Is this what Shou did all day?]
[From a nearby crate, he pulled an odd looking comb, showing it to Castor.]
Ah.. This here's a curry comb. Y' use it t' git th' dirt an' sweat outta th' fur. Helps cool 'em off. An' they love ya for it.
[As soon as the words left his lips, the mare turned the corner to enter the barn. These were high-class horses, well trained. She knew that her gear was removed, then she stopped for a drink, then she was brushed and cleaned. It was a constant cycle for these horses.]
Here, watch.
[As she approached, he slipped his hand through the handle on the brush. He placed the brush against her, firmly moving the bristles against her coat in a circular motion. He started at her flank, working backwards towards her neck. This upset her sleek coat, knocking loose dirt, fur, and sweat to the surface. It looked uncomfortable, but she didn't seem to mind. He'd do this for a moment before handing the brush to Castor.]
Y' wanna try? She don' bite. Jus' keep away from 'er legs an' face, she don' like that as much.
no subject
A-Ah.. sure! It looks simple enough. [he gives a determined nod & then takes the brush before carefully starting to brush]
no subject
[The mare turned her head to look at Castor, nickering gently. Shou smirked.]
Tha' means she likes ya!
Here, I kin take over if y' wanna stop. [He offered this to ensure his new acquaintance didn't think he was trying to offload his work onto other people. That would be sending the entirely wrong message.]
no subject
I have never imagined just brushing a horse would be so nice. It is nice comforting the animal at the same time. I can see why you enjoy it so much.
no subject
[He scratched his head nervously.] I uh... I wouldn' mind if y' wanted t' come visit again..! 'm here e'ery day, after all.
[Once Castor was done, Shou would retrieve a more recognizable type of brush. Her fur looked a mess after the curry comb, but a lot of dirt and loose fur was certainly surfacing. He'd start brushing from the neck to the flank, the way the fur naturally went, knocking all that loose filth off her coat.]
Y' wanna try this one? 's much quicker.
[If Castor was favorable, he'd leave him to it, going off to another part of the barn to get something. He'd come back with two carrots, waiting patiently for him to finish.]
Here. These're fer you. [He handed over the carrots.] One 's fer yer little friend, an' y' kin give th' other t' th' horse in a moment. I'd better do this next bit.
[He retrieved a rather nasty looking hook, standing next to the horse, coaxing her to lift her leg by putting a hand on her ankle. He used the hook to dig into the bottom of her hoof, freeing clumps of dirt and rock that had gotten packed in their after a long day of pulling the carriages. She was visibly nervous about this part, perhaps why he wanted to do it. He didn't appear to be hurting her, but this mare seemed very nervous about her legs and feet. He was quick in his work, finishing all eight as quick as he was able.]
[He wiped his brow on his sleeve, collecting the pick and brushes and putting them away.]
She was doin' perty good today, y' kin give 'er th' carrot.
[He boldly reached to take Castor's free hand as the treat was offered to the horse, bringing it to the front of her nose. The front was much different than her fur, it was almost... velvety. It was warm and very pleasant to the touch.]
She likes it if y' pet 'er here while she's gettin' a treat... Jus' watch yer fingers, she gits a li'l excited.
no subject
What got into this sort of thing? Or was simply living on a farm back home enough?
no subject
Hm..? Oh, well... [He scratched his head awkwardly.] Well, 's jus' all I really know. [He swats at the horse's flank to send her on her way, using it as an excuse to look away to hide a small blush.]
Damn thing is, I kinda wish i knew how t' do more than jus' this. [He'd taken verbal abuse in the past for being a hick, he was surprised to hear someone sound interested in what he did.]
no subject
no subject
Well... 'm jus' no' used t' it here yet. 'm no' sure wha' t' expect.
[He shuffled a little closer to Castor, as if he had something very important he had to ask.]
Uhm... D'you know... If there're any uh... groups here that're jus'... no' allowed?
[That probably sounded weird, he'd rephrase it a little.]
Y'know, types o' people tha' get teased or uh... run outta town fer bein' uhm... different?
[His tone had become very serious, but also terrified, what did he want to know?]
no subject
Well... I have not been here long, so I am not too sure. [he tries to offer him a warm smile though!] But I wouldn't worry about it. After all, the gods themselves are bringing us here, right? If there were groups that weren't allowed, they wouldn't have brought them here in the first place.
[he sets a hand on shou's shoulder] There is nothing wrong with being different. Everyone is different; it is what makes us all unique. Do not trouble yourself over it, okay?
no subject
[The hand on his shoulder pulled him out of his thoughts, dark brown eyes turning to glance at the hand on him.]
Y-yeah... [Whatever was on his mind was obviously nagging at him, and had been for a long time.]
[He forced a small laugh and a smile, putting on a more chipper façade.]
's gettin' kinda late, I don' wanna keep y' too long...
[It was true that the sun had started to hang very low in the sky, but he wasn't opposed to the companionship. Mostly he just couldn't fathom that anyone would want to spend long periods of time around him.]
no subject
You aren't keeping me from anything. I'm enjoying my time here with you. But if you have other duties to attend to, I would hate to get in the way.
no subject
[He offered a small smile, but this one seemed more genuine.]
'm uh.. actually done fer th' day. [He scratched his head again.] Kin I uh... [Was he... blushing?] Kin I walk y' home..?
no subject
A-Ah.. y-yes of course. [he quickly turns his head & goes to pick up the bunny & carries her in his arms] I would not mind at all.
no subject
Y' got yer bunny? [He just wanted to make sure the cute little creature didn't get left behind.]
[Once the small creature was well in hand, Shou would lead the way out of the corral and towards the gate of the park, where he stopped to ask for directions from the knight.]
Which uh... which district are y' in?
[He knew how to get to Thor, but they weren't going there right now. At least he didn't think so.]
no subject
It isn't that far! I believe it is faster to go through the town, if I remember correctly.
no subject
[He took a leisurely enough pace, making certain he didn't leave his new companion behind.]
So uh... [He felt the need to make smalltalk.] Y' got a girlie waitin' fer y' at home..?
[Kind of an abrupt question. Why did he want to know?]
[They eventually left the park, traversing through the streets of Baldr.]
no subject
A girl? [hooow to answer this...] No.. I was not that popular back home. [that is putting it lightly. he tries to shrug it off with a light laugh]
