01 [video]

Things are really getting into the Christmas spirit, aren't they, lady? They kinda caught me off guard... I haven't had the chance to do any Christmas shopping, and I'm strapped for cash.

What? Is this just some sort of subtle way to beg me for more money again? Who would a guy like you even buy a Christmas present for to begin with? [ she sighs. ] Besides, if these weird snowmen are supposed to be 'the Christmas spirit' I think it's just bothersome.

[ busted. ]

Hyahahha, I'm hurt... I was thinking of getting you one. Now you can't complain if all I can afford are tissues... [ hm. ] The snowmen, huh? They're pretty cool, aren't they? [ he holds up the pair of gloves he managed to score off of his own; if anyone is good at ass kissing, it would be amakusa. ] Did you manage to win a prize too?

[ something very faint that's almost pouty manages to break through ange's deadpan expression at that question, especially when she stares at the gloves he already managed to obtain. ]

Ridiculous. Why should I listen to a snowman who asks me to smile? I don't see the point of any of this nonsense.

What's wrong with giving it a little smile? [ he smiles quite broadly to demonstrate. ] It's not like you lose anything. Where is that thing anyway? I'll give him as many smiles as he wants. You do it too, lady. It's not healthy to always be pouting like that.

Ah, you'll never change, will you? Even when it's snowmen of all things giving out free stuff, you're still first in line to steal away their entire supply. Great to see that even in a place like this a man like you won't change, Amakusa. [ she's quite obviously just avoiding the subject though, her own expression still stuck on a slight pouty frown. ] And I'm not going to smile for some stupid snowman. And that's final... In fact, if you want me to smile so badly, why don't you make me, huh? Come on, give me your best joke.

There's nothing in this world better than free stuff. [ unfortunately ange can't get out of this that easily. ] Oh, is that a challenge? Can I bring a smile to the face of this frighteningly cold lady? Alright, I accept!

[ and with that, he clears his throat dramatically. ]

What's the difference between snowmen and snowladies? [ ... ] Snowballs!

[ at first, there's a long pause in which her expression doesn't change a single bit. but just at the point where it would normally turn into an awkward silence, there's a slight snerk and there's no denying that she definitely does look amused, a thin smile on her face. ]

Now that is the worst joke I've ever heard.

Hyahahhaa... but it worked, didn't it? [ that was sort of a smile. ] I'm glad I got it on camera. [ at that he holds up his bracelet that's been... recording... ]

[ there's a moment where it almost looks like she doesn't understand, but then her mouth drops open a little in shock before the frown returns worse than before; there's something clearly embarassed in all of it which turns into tsun anger. ]

Listen up, at this rate I'll definitely be cutting your pay in hal-- [ her own line is cut off as she smacks his bracelet, turning the feed off. ]

(( OOC: Grey is [livejournal.com profile] selfsatisfying, Red is [livejournal.com profile] endofdaydream! Both will respond. If Amakusa is still alive long enough to, anyway. ))

Earth... I see. You are not the only one from Japan I've met -- I come from the Kingdom of Lucifenia, however. Of the continent of Evillious.

[No really why did you have to make him say the continent name!! Thoughtful pause.]

There was a fairy Queen, a strange golden King, several persons who were doppelgangers of those from my home, and a 'dragon'. Though, you could say the city itself is one of the strangest things of all.

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-17 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Small, wry smile.] Thank you for saying so.

We're all 'weirdos' -- I guess that's a pretty good way to put it. Though, I've met ordinary people, too.

[Or... seemingly ordinary people. Allen's well-aware that he himself could pass for 'seemingly ordinary' even though it seems as though his lack of 'computer' knowledge puts him out of place.]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-17 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... maybe. Then again, if we're all in the same boat, I'm not sure it counts anymore.

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
No, I mean -- if we're all 'not ordinary', then in the end we all become 'ordinary', don't we? They even removed people's powers and changed the forms on some of us. It seems to be about... leveling the playing field.

[The question is, of course, what it's being leveled for.]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
No... I didn't have any special powers either. [He's honestly not sure how he feels about having them -- on the one hand, there's the small childish thrill, but on the other...]

We've been given an end goal, but a lot of things still don't make sense.

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-19 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It may be abstract, but it's not the same as 'World Peace', is it? The opposite of 'World Peace' isn't 'World Destruction'. I don't intend to sit on my hands and wait for them to decide whether or not they feel like answering.

[Not with that much at stake.]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't that why there are so many of us? Of course, you're right -- we still do not know what we're up against.

[That, and many here probably aren't all that interested in cooperating. He doesn't blame them, but he doesn't have the luxury of... not being interested.]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not necessarily the case.

[After all, why split them up if they wanted them to work together? Honestly, this doesn't smell like a team-building exercise to him. That, and he'd mostly been envisioning scores of people throwing themselves around -- at least one would hit something useful eventually.

Can't call him an optimist, exactly.

Though it's a bit surprising to learn that this garrulous person doesn't work with others.]

... May I ask why? Why you're not a team player, I mean.

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Head... tilt.]

Are you -- a mercenary soldier or something?

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[There's not much difference between the two where he comes from, but probably Japan is different. Hmm.]

Do you mean that you guard someone of a noble house personally? Or perhaps someone else important to your homeland.

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[No nobility? He wonders if that's what the world after the revolution was like. It's... hard to say. Politics, bah.]

Is 'she' the one you were joking with?

[So even otherworldly mercenaries are kind of the unsavory sort. Good to know....]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps that's lucky for you -- 'at the moment' could end up being far longer than you think.

[Unless, of course, the mercenary plans on looking for new gigs here. But he seems pretty chummy with his current mistress, at least.]

[identity profile] sostaygold.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He can't help a bit of a smile at that.]

She seems to be a remarkable person, but I don't think even she is capable of something like this.
