I'm sure everyone's noticed that the gods are playing games again. Thanks to Freyr's post, we don't have to wonder too much about who is responsible. We've still got a lot to learn about what's going on. Discussion: 1) Do you perceive yourself to be drawn more towards certain people or certain types of people than others? 2) How would you categorise the force of the hugs? 3) Has this case changed how you feel about hugs? (If so, please elaborate.) 4) Has this case changed how you feel about the gods? (If so, please elaborate.) 5. Has this case changed how you feel about your fellow Asgard citizens? (If so, please elaborate.) Please respond with any information you'd like to share. If you want to respond anonymously or privately that's fine but your honest feedback would be appreciated. Also let me know if you have a question you'd like added.

It was just after an incident when challenging an old man who left vague and unhelpful warnings ended up in you getting yourself stabbed. I was in hospital, so it's possible I missed something ... Anyway, it seems a lot of people didn't believe Odin's explanation that giving people their powers from their own worlds would cause problems here -- they'd explode, is what he told us. And when people continued to ask questions he got grumpy and sulked off. It was a while after that that suddenly people started exploding and dying. It was a variety of people effected -- not all the same house, and not all people who'd complained to Odin. But they all died, and their deaths were all recorded on the watches. It was shortly after that Baldr posted saying it was our fault for not listening to the gods to start with, but the other gods quickly tried to silence him. They didn't deny responsibility though, or apologise -- they were only angry that Baldr told.

<font face="courier new'>why would they be angry? it seems kind of obvious to me. and aren't there usually punishments for not listening when you're told? that's how my mother told me the world works. when the person in charge tells you something and you don't obey, anything that happens is your own fault. and why were you in the hospital?

Listening without question is okay -- if it's someone who you've chosen to be in charge, who has earned that right through their actions or it's someone you can trust. People who kidnap you don't fall into that category, and people who take life without giving people the chance of a fair trial or a defence definitely don't! That behaviour alone is unforgivable. ... Also, even when you trust someone to be in charge, that's an awful lot of responsibility for just one person, right? It's easy to lose track of what's important. Being questioned keeps you trying, keeps you thinking, makes you work harder to make sure what you're doing is right -- and if you find that you can't answer those questions, it's better to realise your mistake sooner than later! Making a leader accountable helps them -- and asking questions helps you grow too -- it might even prepare you for a time when you're the one making the decisions. Plus, if someone doesn't want to answer for their actions, it's a pretty good sign that they're trying to hide something! In those circumstances, it's pretty much your duty to investigate. ... um, at least that's what I think ...

instances of fair trial aren't usually very fair from what I've read. it's not much though. honestly.

you know a lot about this kind of thing. did you work for the government in your old world?

What have you been reading? It's important to me -- I want to be a detective, so finding the truth and making sure it's not misrepresented is something I feel strongly about! Of course, in my world, the majority of trials are fair, so I'm bound to feel differently than Rapunzel-san!

if you say so. you'd know much more about it. I started with reading about civilizations. what they are, what holds them together. so it panned out from there! Crime and Punishment In Renaissance Florence is a really good read. and I have Police Organization in the Twentieth Century bookmarked. I found On Crimes and Punishment too, which is actually from around my time! neat right?

but I hope you achieve your dream. even if the justice system isn't perfect yet I'm sure having more people like you could help fix that. there are TONS of detectives around Asgard so it looks like so you're in great company. actually it makes me wonder why we don't have a police force or anything. [ Not that she especially cares. The majority of her friends would probably be thrown in jail if there were one. ]

Some of my friends are working really hard to make one! But before you can have police you have to have a set of laws that the majority can agree too. But since everyone in Asgard comes from such different places and has such different ideas, piecing together something that fits all of us ... well, it's going to take time! That is neat! There's newspapers from my world here, maybe you'll find something close to home too! Though I have to ask ... Is eating your gallbladder Crime and Punishment in Renaissance Florence or On Crimes and Punishment?

oh no no. it's just something my mother told me could happen if you ran into the guards. we didn't have police in Corona I don't think. just royal guards. they're pretty evil apparently.

akfl;4;i Idon't know. it's weird to think about because it seems unlikely that we'll all get to leave at once if it's never happened yet. just people that supposedly disappear right? and even then some of them just come back.

I think it's weirder to imagine that we're here to stay forever. If people go back to their world at the same time they leave, it seems like this is temporary, and once the gods are done with us, we'll slip seamlessly back into our lives. If it's permanent ... I feel like there'd be an impact. I also think that if we were here permanently, we wouldn't be able to slip back into our worlds or become grey at all.

[ Oh she doesn't like that idea at all. No impact? That's completely terrifying. ]

so you think we'll all just be returned once this is over?

I admit, I my proof is inconclusive ... But I think so.

what about the people who may have been here before us?

You mean the grey citizens?

it's just something I've heard. draco malfoy and I talked about it some. the possibility that we aren't the first people brought here to color asgard. and then there's the reason it's grey to begin with. we still don't know that.

Have you got any proof that there were people brought in from other worlds before us? Because, to me, it seems like the wording of the Fire Giant's message implies we're the first. Have you seen the records found in the abandoned hospital?

that's what inspired the thought actually. why?

Because I haven't seen any proof that there were Travellers before us, and if there is some, I'd really like to see it.

do you think the gods would leave it around if there were proof? or if they did make it obvious like that. it's just fishy. the whole thing.

You don't come up with a theory and then look for proof. You find the facts first, and reason based on that. Anything else and you risk distorting the truth. It's true that with our possession's vanishing when people leave here, we won't have it easy finding material proof for your theory ... but the grey people don't lose the colour they gained if they don't see us for a while. They even continue spreading that colour to other grey people, so I think there would have to be some record of previous Traveller presence either in lingering colour, records of the traveller presence kept by the citizens, that sort of thing. Given how many crimes have been committed by this group of travellers already in the short time we've been here, there's got to be something -- a wave of crime, any outbreaks of unusual behaviour -- so I think talking to the grey citizens or searching for records in the library or hospital is your best bet for finding proof. I don't know about library, but I might be able to get you into the hospital records if you're interested. Or the undertaker's office in Hel, they're another possibility -- even the graveyard there might be useful. I think the biggest challenge to your theory will still be explaining why the Fire Giants used our presence as the basis for his declaration of war if this has happened before.
