Not exactly. You've got the two teams of three, one on each side of the center line. [ pointing ] Each team has a firebender, a waterbender, and an earthbender. Your goal, as a team, is to take as much of your opponent's territory before you run out of time and the round's up.

So you only use your bending to push the other team back?

Right. The territory is divided up into three zones apiece.

When someone gets knocked over the line, or illegally crosses the line in front of them, they have to move back into the next zone. Zone three doesn't have any ropes, so if you get pushed too far back, you fall of the platform and into the plunge pool. Once you're off the platform, you're out until the next round.

So what's stopping someone who can bend earth from just manipulating the platform? Making it crumble under their opponent's feet so they fall into the water - something like that.

That's what the bending rules are for. The ring itself is metal. The zone lines are water grates, and these [ he points to the smaller circles dotted on the diagram ] are clay discs. An earthbender can only use the discs in his zone, and a waterbender can only use water from the the grates immediately in front of or behind him. Firebenders have a bit of freedom because we generate our own element, but there's rules about the actual attacks themselves for all three elements. No head strikes with earth or fire, no water or fire blasts longer than one second. No ice or steam, no breaking discs before they're thrown, and no bending metal.

Tiebreaker round. Ref flips a coin, and whatever team wins picks the who they want in the face off. The opposing team's bender of the same element gets sent in, and the circle at half court gets raised up into a platform, and the first one to knock off their opponent wins.

What happens to players who don't follow the rules?

[ HAHA SORE SUBJECT ] Ref'll give them a yellow fan as a warning, and makes them move back a zone as penalty. If it's a really bad foul, or they've had enough warnings, they'll get a red fan and ejected from the match, no matter the round.
