If anyone is interested, I've put together a short, basic guide on the city and the things that have happened up until now. A native was kind enough to show me how to submit a document like that - it's just like a typewriter except without all of the fussy ribbons.

Everything I've put there I gleaned from other Travelers, natives, and the gods' announcements. I arrived just before the thick fog lifted, so obviously there are gaps in my knowledge. If anyone could help fill those in for me, that'd be great.

[ not her — hell no, claudia needs to go home. but she remembers kadar al-sayf: dead in his world, alive in this one. what will happen to him when the gods are finished with him? will he return to the grave? will he be as though alive again? ]

[He understands the sentiment, wanting to stay in the other world, but Asgard isn't nearly as welcoming as Narnia is.]

[ waves her hand. ]

He is from another time in my world.

I have to wonder how much energy the gods are spending to accomplish all of this if they are reversing death for some and pulling others from worlds like the one you just mentioned.

[auditor]

And yet, they claim they have little to spare.

I must have missed it. [And that's somewhat important to note.] Which of the gods told you that?

Ah, I have not spoken to one. I'm not certain I want to!

[ if only because she wouldn't be able to hold her temper and what a mess that could cause. ]

They do sound intimidating, in the way bullies might. Some of them have not been treating the others like us very well.

But we might not have a choice, if they regulate the information about the war and the city that's being passed around.

[auditor]

Ah, you are right. But I think I will stick to watching them. Disrespecting gods is not a good idea, sí?

[Edmund thinks of the few times anyone has invoked Aslan's wrath, and shivers a little.]

No, it isn't. As long as we do not actively provoke them, collecting information should be well within our rights.
