[ video / action for library, arena ] ⚡ [ night 72 ]
[ Live from Asgard's 'Great Library' this evening, a set of bookshelves taking up the majority of the background behind her, is a familiar, serious-looking face-- albeit one that's been lying pretty low outside her job at the hospital for the last little while. Despite the rather close set of the 'camera,' it's fairly obvious where she is... although for some reason she appears to be standing rather than sitting, and keeps glancing off and down at something she must be following some kind of directions off of.
Actually, she... seems to be wrapping her hands, using a long, dark red something, her slim fingers flashing into frame occasionally as she calmly addresses her bracelet- ]
How many of you are familiar with sparring, without the use of weapons?
[ ... Was it mentioned she was in the library during this? Yes? Well, hopefully she isn't bothering anyone too much, then. Eventually, she does take her leave of the place, heading over to where she fits in better instead: the arena, where she can be found frowning and outright attacking some hapless punching bag late into the night.
Perhaps someone forgot to tell her you're supposed to take it easy and primp the day before a party?? ]

She opts not to mention this to Yeul. While she doesn't necessarily believe it to be the case, she still finds it safest to assume that anything she tells the girl might eventually get filtered to Caius, too.
After a moment and a brief, thoughtful frown: ]
Do you do the exact same thing every day?
[ video ]
No, but there is very little change from day to day.
[ video ]
[ A hobby or a chore or-- whatever. And she's not talking about seeing the future or making Noel's age confusing, Yeul. Her expression remains unchanged as she wind wind winds that red wrap around her fingers, but she's actually being pretty patient here. Eager to get to her point and, as a result, making her words a touch choppier than how she might speak otherwise these days, but really her annoyance levels aren't any higher than the norm. ]
[ video ]
[Yeul falls silent then, considering.
Being the Seeress means a certain amount of simply not being allowed to do anything. Really, it had only been the slow but eventual fall of the Timeseers that had led to her taking a larger roll in handling daily chores. Whether or not this had made her skilled at any of them, though, was another thing altogether. As such it takes a fair amount of time to come up with something to reply with.]
The... chocobos seem to enjoy my care more than that of the others.
[ video ]
When you're caring for chocobos, there's certain tasks you must do every day- feeding, exercising, making sure they're not injured... and yet, there are also some things that aren't as common, but that you should know anyway. Treating a broken claw or a blood feather, for example... or dealing with a beast that has gone out of control.
[ Right? Of course, there's no guarantee that Yeul's going to know those things... and the lattermost has the potential to be morbid enough that Lightning's sure Yeul probably hadn't dealt with it without assistance, but... ]
[ video ]
The truth of the matter, though, is that she's rather puzzled. She figures that Lightning is going to make a point at some point, but at the moment, Yeul is unable to fully discern what it might be--hints perhaps, but she'll wait a while longer before coming to a final verdict. It probably doesn't really help that she hasn't had to deal with anything complex in regards to chocobo care either.
In any case, Yeul nods shallowly once, if only to encourage the other to continue.]
[ video ]
Just knowing enough to get by is one thing, but doing nothing to branch out, sticking only to what's familiar or easy... that's the best way for one's talent to stagnate.
[ She's been keeping her voice pretty easy up until now, but here it hardens a little, just as she finishes off her work decisively, smooths her hands over each other to check it. ]
I don't intend to waste this opportunity to prepare.
[ video ]
So instead, she steers the conversation elsewhere:]
To prepare? For your eventual return home?
[There is the faintest hint of sadness to her voice and in her gaze.]
[ video ]
For the worst.
[ So yeah, basically. 'Expect the best, prepare for the worst' seems like a pretty safe motto right now. ]
[ video ]
Those three words immediately conjure up images of the eternal battle between Lightning and Caius, and a bit of tension visblydevelops in her tiny frame as she clasps her hands together in her lap. It never was and never will be a pleasant thought to her, but it's not her duty nor her right to change things.
Besides, there's a chance that Lightning's not ever referring to events in their home world...]
Yes, a warrior must always be prepared. That is a logical explanation.
[ video ]
That said, her mild respectfulness remains intact, and as she slowly inclines her head in a nod- ]
Then, you'll excuse me.
[ video ]
Yeul returns the gesture and nods her head as well.]
I apologize for taking up your time.
[She waits for the woman to shut the connection down before following suit, feeling a little worse at the end of that conversation than at the start.]
