Well, THIS is unexpected.
[there's a young woman using the video feature; she has dark skin, flyaway hair, and a tattered top which was once ornate and beautiful. she's staring at the screen with odd combination of wariness and amusement, and her unfamiliarity with technology is quickly made apparent when she hesitantly pokes at a couple of controls and the video cuts out, to be replaced by audio only.]
--Oh. Hm.
[a few moments' silence as she possibly tries to undo whatever she did, but doesn't figure out how, so continues regardless.]
I'm told I now belong to House Heimdall. If it pleases the patron, I would like to meet him and pay my respects before settling in.
[a pause, then a snort of laughter]
Of course, it must be some kind of cosmic joke that I'm in an afterlife with gods I've never heard of before. I wonder what Ahriman or Ormazd would say to all this. ...Or the stranger. [with definite amusement this time] I bet he'd be complaining.
My name is Elika. I don't know how to describe where I'm from, or what to tell you... I'm here now, so I suppose what my life was before now doesn't really matter anymore, but I'll work with everyone to bring back the color to this place.

I don't really mind that much. It's...something new. [one foot dangles away from the warm comfort and she presses it firmly into the snow, examining the perfect footprint left behind with a pleased sort of interest, before looking back at him with a familiarly amused, almost sarcastic look]
Honestly, I'm more curious how many of these buildings are going to have gauntlet marks in them before one week is out.

I may need to cut back on that on a little. I already got some dirty looks when I did it over in the Freyr district.

Better than the way you treat buildings and stone. It's nice. Quiet, pretty.
[a thoughtful pause]
It'd be nice if it was a bit less...wet. Cold is fine, wet and cold isn't so much.

It's not all bad. You're just going to have to start wearing a little more. I know, I'm heartbroken by that too.

Oh, please. It's a big city; the law of averages dictates that there'll be SOME girl here in this city who'll put up with you and let you see whatever you want. If you're lucky, it won't even be a girl you have to pay to do it.

That's hardly praise. I think the phrase is "cat-calling". Or maybe "objectifying".

[she's at least somewhat amused again, and smirking pleasantly.]

That needs to be taught? I thought it just came naturally.
WHOOPS wow i'm sorry for this late tag!
[she's teasing. really.]

[whatever's going through her head, she's not going to share, but she seems to visibly deflate, and brushes her hand across her forehead]
Sorry. Guess I'm a little on edge from this whole...situation. [and with an involuntarily shudder, she adds:] And colder than I thought, maybe.

You stay out here much longer and the situation will be the least of your problems. There's a little shop just around the corner here. It's a good place to warm up.
