Hey. I’m not into public introductions, it feels like AA or something. Name’s Rudolf Ushiromiya, just got a few questions here for the rest of you.

Anyone know how exactly they decide where you go? It’s like a horoscope, right? Personalities and all that. So what’s the formula, if you want specifics, it’d be Baldr. If you don’t like how they judged you, who do you talk to about getting a switch? I don’t like the idea of somebody just assuming who I am.

Oh yeah, and what kind of jobs are up for grabs, or businesses that might be needed. This suite doesn’t really suit my tastes. …And I guess I’m gonna have to buy cigarettes.

Well, that aside, this place is something else. Whether you believe in magic back home or not, here it's definitely real.

Yeah, well, it's dirty to fight like that. Even using human means that are dirty tricks is way better. Hell, it's fine here too, at least we know there's magic and junk, even if you still can't defend yourself against it, you know it's there.

Yeah, there's no way that could be the only reason, and we both said the same thing, right? So it's only 'cause it's true.

I know I'm...probably prying, but did something happen between you and Battler? He has a big mouth and doesn't always know what he's talking about.

Not knowing is the problem, huh? When you're lifted away to some sort of magical grey world like this, you can pretty much accept anything. But when the lines are more blurry... that's when things get complicated.

As in six-years-old, a little kid, Battler's twelve years older than her! So you're telling me that's not the case and she's an adult? I dunno...

Right, and Battler...yeah, he's kind of pissed off at me. His mom died and I remarried, so he got angry and ran off to his grandparents. We're good now, but it's awkward, I don't really know how to deal with him. He sure doesn't know what he's talking about half the time, but, well.

That's exactly it, you can at least attempt to defend yourself like this, but if you don't even know it's possible, or can't even tell if it is or not, that's just ridiculous.

Heh, I guess anything's better than being dead, I don't mind much. Being stuck in some kind of dorm room's less than desirable, though.

If it works like I want, it should be just about the easiest job there is, with good pay. Little bit of advertising, maybe some walking.

I've always thought my natural born charm went to a waste a bit in my line of work.

I wouldn't mind getting to finally use it to make some spare change.

Now it's my turn to explain things.

You've heard about the patron Gods already and the overall goal of "restoring color". By doing research in the library I've discovered that the lack of color is caused by an illness. Here's where it gets interesting.

They say want us to restore color, but what do they mean? Symbolically? Literally? Metaphorically? Lion says it's a mix of everything. Asgard is one of the cities of which we need to restore color to.

We may or may not have to restore color to other towns or cities depending on how things turn out. There's not enough information on our part.

As long as you're not trying to brush up your skills on my daughter. Otherwise, sounds like you're my kind of guy.

Ah, don't worry. She's not the type to get roped into buying anything. Hell, if you try, she'll probably chase you off with a broom or something.

An illness...on the city? Or is it the people in the city?

I'd be more concerned with 'restoring colour' to THIS city before worrying about others anyway.

You know that's not what I was talking about. She's still a little girl in my eyes, I don't want anyone thinking they can chat her up. That goes for anybody - if you see anyone else trying anything, well, I hope your job includes fighting off men.

If you're adding that to my list of duties, I'll happily oblige you. I won't even charge you... we'll just think of it as an extra service for the sake of creating good will.

I guess an agreement between men has to be sealed with a handshake, huh? It doesn't feel complete until you add that element to it.

Exactly, you can welch on it otherwise, but anyone who breaks a deal after a handshake's a dirty rat. It's practically a rule you can't trust anyone until you get it.

We'll have to have a fun family gathering sometime.
