We don't really force them to fight, battling can be for fun or for the experience and closeness that brings Trainers and their Pokémon together. Some Pokémon actually pride themselves in battling and winning.

I wouldn't force Zekrom to do something he didn't want to, besides battling is only between Pokémons.
