[When the video appears Kate seems to be frowning, taking a brief moment to realize it's on before she blinks and straightens.]

I'm Detective Kate Beckett, NYPD. I was wondering if anyone had any information as to what this place is. The woman I met earlier was very unhelpful and this letter is absolutely ridiculous. Do you think this is a game? Kidnapping a cop will get you-

[She stops herself, breathing through her nose for a moment before straightening again. Kate smiles , a bit pained but no longer looking like she's about to rip off someone's head.]

The letter called this place Asgard. From Norse mythology, right? Or the Thor comics? And the woman said something about how my room is in the Heimdall House. I wasn't big on the Thor comics, but he's the guy who guards the rainbow road, right?

Oh, and if you see-

[She stops herself again, this time her lips pressing into a thin line. No. She didn't very much care if Castle was here, besides, he'd probably contact her if he saw this anyway. Or so she hoped.]

The letter also mentioned bringing life, color, back to this city, right? [She looks around, frowning slightly.] It looks colorful enough to me. Anyway, if you have any information as to what the hell is going on, that'd be great. Thanks.

[And the video cuts out.]

Let's see ... the dragon was Day 28, I think! And the ice-faeries ... that would have been Day 39 it started, but there were still faeries in the city the next day.

It's now Day 63.

Since the first travellers arrived in Asgard.

Are there still people here from then?

Lots, I think. I arrived on Day 3 and there were already a lot of us then.

So have you seen people leave? Go back home?

I haven't seen it happen ... but people I know and have spoken too have disappeared. Sometimes they've reappeared and when they do, in most cases they don't remember being here ... so the theory is that we go back to the instant we leave with no memory of being here.

Hmm.

[She looks more concerned than anything, but nothing she can do about that. Not yet.]

What's your name, by the way?

I'm Edogawa Conan -- Conan's my name.

It's nice to meet you, Detective Beckett!

Well it's nice to meet you, Conan. You've been a big help.

I'm glad! Ne -- let me know if you've got any other questions I can help with, okay?

Ne -- can I ask a favour?

Definitely. [She smiles at him.]

Oh, sure. What it is?

Ne -- has Detective Beckett worked closely with a forensics team in her work? I'm asking 'cause --

Well, before the travellers arrived, there wasn't any crime in Asgard, so there's no police force or anything like that. But there's been some suspicious occurrences, and I took a job in the hospital lab to learn more about forensics and the hospital technology, and -- um, well, the next day there was a murder and now I'm head of the forensics team at the hospital and it'd be really really helpful if you could give us a lecture on police procedure, please?

Yeah. I'm not specifically involved with the forensics of cases, but I've worked with quite a few different teams.

Oh, well... [She's a little surprised. Her first thought wasn't really to get involved with police work, but now that she thinks about it...She probably wouldn't last very long without getting involved. She smiles.]

Of course. But are you saying that you're setting up a police force with a bunch of volunteers? And you're in charge of the forensics team? [A pause.] How old did you say you were?

Not a police force -- Yuri-sensei and Edgeworth-sensei are trying to set up a system of laws to protect people, so until that's in place, policing is a little ...

[Conan's beginning to dread this question.]

Seven ...

Ohhh, so they need to set up a legal system. Okay, but yes. Of course. I'd love to-

[Wait. Wait. Hold up.]

You're seven?

They're always looking for people with experience in law or law enforcement to join the discussion, give ideas and support and stuff like that!

My birthday's in May. [As if that helps at all.]

And you're turning eight.

[Yeah, she's not letting you get away with this.]

And you're in charge of the forensic team that investigates murders...

It just sort of happened like that. I joined the hospital lab team as a sort of intern -- I wanted to learn about the medical sides of things while working, and they were happy to have me! And on my third day on the job, we had a murder and I was the only who knew crime scene procedure 'cause of living with Uncle -- he's a detective in Tokyo! -- so I just ... ended up in charge.

But you see why I'd like your help!

Well yeah I mean-

[Okay Kate, calm down. Conan doesn't act like a normal 7 year old so there's got to be something else there. Plus, society-rules seem to be different here. She needs to get her bearings first.

She sighs and smiles.]
