Humankind are creatures in need of adversity. When they become too complacent, they become little more than a plague.

But suffering itself is not enough to interest me. That comes from those who have a wish too great to achieve with feeble human strength, and become something greater than human to achieve it. Such a person is altogether tragic and beautiful.
