Hi hi everybody! Rise Kujikawa and Souji Seta, on the scene and exploring the city of Asgard! [Rise salutes and bumps shoulders with the

veritates next to her, squeezing them both into the video feed for a quick shot.]

Hi. [ that seems to be all he wants to say before going back off camera, his attention drawn to... well... something. who knows. ]

It's a strange new world out here, and we're all a little curious as to what's around. Well right now, we're located here at... Ge... Ge-fi-on Park. It looks pretty, doesn't it?

[SCENIC PAN OF LAVISH SCENERY. It's brootiful.]

We saw an amusement park earlier in one of the other districts, but it was kind of creepy. This place is a lot fancier, and there's even carriage rides! Although...

[Rise turns the camera to catch one of the horse-drawn carriages trotting by. Hey does that horse have eight legs??? You bet it does.]

That's pretty weird, isn't it? [Rise laughs a little.]

Is it...? [ doesn't seem to bother him much. ]

Hey Senpai! [The camera shifts abruptly as Rise loops her arm around Souji's, holding him close.] Let's go on a carriage ride together! Ju-st the two of us. Can we?

Eh? Weren't you just saying they were weird...

So that's a "yes"? Come on, let's go!

[ well that definitely caught him by surprise. he doesn't seem to know how to react at first, though he seems to reluctantly nod as the feed suddenly turns off. ]

I don't know yet either. [ a pause. can he just let adachi do what he wants...? but it's not like he really has any authority to stop him... ] I just want to try and help people as they arrive.

Wow, that's nice of you. Good luck! I'm sure you'll need it with how many people seem to be flooding in.

[ another nod. he knows he should say something, but what? he can't just... act like nothing is wrong whatsoever. ]

[ okay that was admittedly pretty weak but he has no idea how to approach this subject properly. ]

[The proper answer to that is "no" of course, but Adachi doesn't want Souji to try to enact more justice here. Somehow it's just different. Sure, Adachi promised to live by the worlds of the world just before he was brought here, and suddenly the world's rules decided to shift on him. This place is a lot more open, nothing is established yet. They're going to be the ones to establish it, and Adachi can't let Souji and his gang of brats hold him back just because of what happened in a previous world. Playing the part of a reformed criminal for these kids... It couldn't be too hard, right?

Adachi's voice changes tone, to something more solemn and serious, even apologetic.]

Yeah.

[ souji just quietly stares for a few moments, wondering what to make of... well... any of this. his repentance does seem to be sincere though, but at the same that's hardly a sure thing, nor has he been properly punished for his crimes. catching a criminal was one thing, but deciding what to do with him after ward... that was something souji knew he couldn't do it. it had been the same when his friends wanted to pass judgment on namatame: a line they couldn't cross. ]

Alright. [ a nod. ] Be careful then. [ while the words are innocent enough, they still carry a second meaning: he'll be keeping an eye on him, or trying to anyway. ]

[It works.

Adachi would laugh if he wasn't so focused on doing just the opposite. He can't believe how gullible this kid is. Of course, Adachi doesn't expect him to let him go entirely. He'll be expecting that eye, more of them than just this pair, too. All of those brats are sure to have their eyes on him. Luckily enough for him, he's been doing this acting thing for a while, and he lets those thoughts fade easily. He'll laugh it out later, when no one can hear him. Right now he's focusing on playing the role of guilty Mr. Criminal, his new story for anyone who asks.]

[ part of it is simply gullibility, while the other half is sincere hope that perhaps adachi has changed. away from izanami's influence, after everything that happened... isn't it possible he learned his lesson? but something was fundamentally wrong with adachi from the very beginning, and souji understands that. but it's hard to simply discard months of trusting the man as his uncle's partner, even if that was mostly just a facade.

if he's wrong... then he's wrong. but no matter how he chooses to think about this, there isn't much he can do about it for now. ]

I will. [ ... ] There are others here too. [ though perhaps adachi already knows that. he obviously knows about rise, but what about yosuke and kanji? they might... not be quite as forgiving. ]

Yeah, I'm not surprised. How many have you talked to?

[ wow harsh. ]

Three. Rise, Yosuke, and Kanji. [ he'd find out sooner or later, so what's the point of hiding it from him? ]

The gods sure seem to have taken a liking to us... If it's as you say, that's more than I would've imagined. This whole thing seemed... a bit more universal than this. At least at first.

I don't know why they picked us... [ especially you... ] But they must have had a reason.

You'd think. There are too many of us from Inaba for this to be a coincidence.

Do you think it might have to do with what happened...?

Yeah. I can't think of any other reason, not when the people brought here don't seem consistent with anything else.

[ then, in a way, doesn't that mean adachi sort of got them into this mess too... oh well. ]

If there's some sort of connection... we'll have to figure out what that is.

So far it seems as though you guys are the ones being brought in... Well, in any case, I'll do my best to help out. Can't hurt to have a detective looking into it, right?
