[ if she wasn't annoyed during her first post, she's sure as hell annoyed now. oops. her words are tight, and her posture almost overly straight in an attempt to rein herself in. ]
If anyone can tell me how long it's been since the cold snap, or what has happened since, I'd be grateful.
[ she looks to the side, refusing to show how much losing this much time is affecting her before a flare of anger wells up. faster, almost spitting the words out, ]
But seriously - what kind of gods take people from their homes, bring them here, and then let them lose entire weeks just wandering? Some gods.
[ she hasn't been gone that long, but the fact that she's lost any time at all, not knowing what she was doing or what was going on scares her. so she covers with anger.
she takes a deep breath, forcing herself to relax. a cool, collected smile, reminiscent of being forced to attend socialite parties when she'd rather be anywhere else, crosses her face. ]
Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
[ she presses the button, but her hands are shaking (bad for an archer and she's hating herself for it), so it doesn't quite catch. so while the screen turns off, the feed doesn't. she stares down at the bracelet for a second before almost snarling at it, ripping it off and throwing it at the wall.
then she remembers just what got her into this mess in the first place and sucks in a quick breath, snatching it up from the ground. there's a shaky 'fuck' as she slides it back on, and a deep frown as she realizes it's still recording. here, have a hand over the top of the gem. ]
((ooc: she's been lost since the day before the old man showed up, but since the cold snap was the last big thing, and she knows how long it's been since that...))

Conan.
Thanks. [ it's less time than she thought. still not great, but there's a deep breath on her end, and she sounds more relaxed when she starts speaking again.] What have I missed?

It was pretty quiet, until about a week ago. First an old man showed up to different people, telling us to beware the Ides of March. That was Day 49. If you asked him about it, he'd mutter something about betrayal, but not actually answer any questions. Then all these owls showed up even though it was day. Next there were all these lions ... I got stuck at the hospital because I was afraid of going home by myself. Then the next day ... well, if you talked to the old man, you either got a present from home or ... someone from your home showed up and stabbed you.
Sam-san thinks it depended on how seriously the person took the old man's warning.
[Kate might notice that the background to Conan's feed looks suspiciously hospital-like ... and that he himself is pale.]

Lions? And owls? Even for this place that sounds very strange.
[ there's a small frown as he mentions the hospital. ] You say you got stuck at the hospital because you were afraid to go home, but it looks like you're still there. Are you alright? Does this have something to do with the old man?
no subject
It was -- Sam-san posted about it. He has a theory that I think makes a lot of sense!
Ah -- it does. Apparently asking relevent and pertinent questions counts as disrespecting the gods, or something.

Could you link me to it? I'd like to read it - as much as I've missed, any information about what's been happening would be really useful.
But you're alright, right? [ having few to no contacts in this place means she's getting pretty protective of the people she knows. so she's a little worried. ] Did you at least get some answers?

[At her first question, she can't help, but wonder.]
It's been a two weeks, I think, since the ice fairy incident. Nothing much has happened after that. We've all been doing nothing, except live our usual, boring every day life. Not too long ago, as I said before, the gods finally revealed themselves for another Q&A which was pretty pointless too. Anyway, why do you asking? Have you been living under a rock or something?
no subject
I'm not sure what happened; the last I remember is a few days after the ice fairies. And then it's just a blur. [ she makes a face. ] This is why I hate magic.

[And yes! Finally, someone agrees with her over the gods being stupid. All of the people she has recently spoken to are acting as if being friendly or loyal with the gods is good. Tch. The mere thought pisses her off!] I totally agree with you on that one. A true god is responsible in keeping order in their world especially the type of gods that shamelessly show themselves to others. These gods aren't really worth obeying because they keep ignoring the situation instead of helping us train for the upcoming war! There are people here, who will not be any help on the field, so the gods should be helping them a little more by offering protection or something. Especially the innocent children, who have been choosen for some unknown reason.
[....did she just find her kindred spirit? This is a first that someone hates magic.] Yeah! Magic is totally uneccessary. There is a reason I don't use ninjitsu, and magic is just as close to being one. True strength. People who really know how to take care of themselves don't need it, in my opinion. Magic is only used to those who are weak, it's an unnecessary cheat.
[Please excuse Raimei, she is rather an opinionated teenager.]

The fact that we were taken at all to fight in this war is reprehensible. If they needed people to fight, I'm sure many people would have volunteered. There was absolutely no need to start kidnapping people like this. [ she's seen no reason to give her loyalty to these gods, especially since the 'gods' she knows from home at least have respect for the choices of others, whereas here...]
I wouldn't say it's a cheat - if that's your skill, then that's your skill and you can hone it like anything else, but it tends to make things needlessly complicated. Moreso than most other powers. [ some of her best friends use magic and it can be handy, but hooooooly shit the trouble that results when it goes wrong? so not worth it. ] I wouldn't call some of my friends weak, but I could definitely take them in hand-to-hand, easily. Plus, your own strength isn't likely to fail on you out of the blue.
no subject
[At the other's explanation about magic, Raimei couldn't help think about Kouichi, Miharu, and the others who do know magic. Even she had to admit, they were quite good with their skills. Maybe it isn't as bad as she believes, but there is no way she is going to begin changing her philosophy now.]
You aren't a magic-user, right? Only your friends? Because I can definitely understand where you are going with this. Most of my friends and enemies are the same, they use magic and mix it with their physical abilities too. But still, a samurai does not need magic; only strength and courage to stand up for what's right. Plus, relying too much on your physical abilities is an amateur move. Every warrior should always acknowledge their weaknesses more than their strengths, so they'll be able to find a way to get past it. [At least, it was one of the few lessons her mother taught her before she was killed.] But you are right, though...

I remember a few days after that - about four, but as people tend to remember larger events more easily than plain days, I thought that would be a better chance of accuracy. But yes. I seem to have lost an alarmingly large number of days.
no subject
[he fidgets a little awkwardly since he thinks he'd given a stupid answer, but... hey! it could have been worse.]
Anyway... you're not the first person I've heard of who had something like that happen to them. Do you remember losing your bracelet or something like that?
no subject
Yes; I took off the bracelet, as it got in the way of my shooting, and the next I knew, I was in the lower town, a week later, with it returned to me. It seems they're controlling and keeping track of us in more ways than I thought.
no subject
Yeah, it sounds like what I'd heard before. Apparently you turn into one of the colorless natives, too, which is why you can't remember what happened.
[it's all extremely worrying, the more he thinks about it.]
