Performance 001 [Video/Action]

[mybffmrhat]

[The video turns on as a teenage girl, wearing a blue silk cape held together by a diamond-shaped clasp and black dress, red neck scarf and baby blue silk hat stares intently a a piece of paper in her opposite hand. Looking up, she notices that hey, pushing the button actually did something! Her surprise quickly turns to delight, and she breaks into a huge smile.]

Well this certainly isn't the Wonder Bar, but one place is as good as another right? After all, a performer's gotta be quick on their toes! I just wish however took me would have asked first, I would have said yes...

Anyway, this letter and the lady that gave it to me are right about one thing--this place definitely needs more color, so let me help liven things up! My name is Trucy Wright, magician and CEO of the Wright Anything Agency and once I find a place to perform, I'll start up my famous magic act in this Asgard place! Please come see me!

[She looks around her surroundings, then adds:] I guess the lions are one way to liven things up. Not my first choice, but I like it.

I do, I do! Isn't he the greatest? [ She's not getting the uninterested tone. ]

He's okay... He's no Troupe Gramarye.

[circuses]

Ummm...who's Troupe Gram-ma-ry?

[mybffmrhat]

How have you heard of Max Gallactica but not Troupe Gramarye?! They're only the most famous magical troupe on the planet!

[circuses]

Sorry, but I've never heard of them...

It's okay, I'll just have to lend you my--

[mybffmrhat]

O-oh, I guess I can't lend you any of my tapes, can I?

[circuses]

It's okay, Miss! You'll let me know if you get them back, won'tcha? [ SPARKLES ] Anyways, what sort of tricks can they do? Do they fly like Max?

[mybffmrhat]

[Huge grin.] Of course! If I get them back, you'll be the first to see them. I'm Trucy, by the way. Trucy Wright! What's your name?

And they can do anything! They're most famous trick was "Zak & Valant's Quick-Draw Shootem" where they would have an assistant stand in the middle of the stage and they'd be on either side with magic pistols. Then they'd fire and hit everything on stage but her! [Except, you know, that one time it did.] Pretty cool, right?

[circuses]

[ She ponders this for a while. ] Wright...that name sounds familiar. Hey, you don't happen to know a 'Nick', do ya?

Ohhh wowwww! That's fantastic! I wonder how they do it? But Max says a magician never tells his secrets. [ She also seems completely unconcerned with the possible dangers of the act. ]

[mybffmrhat]

My daddy used to be called Nick a looooooong time ago. Did Daddy defend you when he still had his attorney's badge?

That's right! If you tell, the illusion's gone... and where's the fun in that? [If it wasn't her mom that got shot, she totally would be too.]

[circuses]

Not me, Max. [ She hesitates. Remembering that case is painful for her. ] But it wasn't that long ago.

The best part is trying to work out how it's done! But I can never figure it out.

[You know, that does sound vaguely familiar...] Maybe you have a weird measurement of time, because Daddy hasn't been a lawyer in 7 years. That's kind of long.

[mybffmrhat]

But hey, why do you want to know the trick behind the trick, huh? Do you want to be a magician too?

[circuses]

Seven years? For me it's only been a few months...unless I fell asleep for a reeeally long time.

[ Regina giggles. ] I'd love that! Max wouldn't like me knowing all his secrets, but since he's not here I don't mind! Maybe I could fly too?! Like a beautiful bird or a balloon!

[mybffmrhat]

Hmm... You must be from the past then, but how is that possible? I've never heard of a magic trick that can turn back time...

I'm not ready to take on apprentices just yet, but anyone can learn the basics!

[circuses]

Is this the future? There aren't any spaceships or aliens, or whatever is future-stuff. Someone already said it wasn't Mars.

I'd be grateful if you'd teach me... [ She gives her sweetest smile. Force of habit. ]

[mybffmrhat]

You know, I have no idea. I don't think it's the future, but it's definitely a weird place...

[Holy crap how do people say no to that?] Sure, but just a few card tricks--I'm really not ready to teach you anything tougher.

[circuses]

Maybe it's not the past or the future. It's just Asgard!

That's alright! Even card tricks sound kinda hard, y'know.

[mybffmrhat]

[She smiles at that, though she definitely isn't sure.] Yeah, maybe!

Only until you learn them... Um, I don't think I learned your name.

[circuses]

I'm Regina Berry. Nice to meetcha! Hmm, maybe we could do some simple ones first. Otherwise, I might get confused.

[mybffmrhat]

Nice to meet you too, Regina. Well I only have one deck of cards right now, so I'll have to find another deck before I can teach you anything...but I'll let you know when I do!

Oh! What house are you in? If you're in Loki I can just stop by your room when I have another.

[circuses]

I'm in Freya! But it's no big deal, I can just make my way over to Loki and hang out there! ...Which way is Loki again?

[mybffmrhat]

Uh... You know, I don't know where Freya is to even tell you. I just sort of got here.

[circuses]

I'm new too! And I get lost a lot. This place is huge, so I can't keep up with where things are. Oh well!
