[ She pauses, clutching her hand to her chest and looking distressed. ]

I suppose this should be a relief, but to tell you the truth, I’m a little afraid of being in a place like this. Is it dangerous here? I...just have a bad feeling about this, I suppose. Does anyone else have that feeling? I hope I’m not alone.

[ Another pause as she looks away timidly. ]

[ Alita can't help but wonder why the girl's voice sounds so robotic, but she offers a polite smile anyway. She's ostensibly relieved at Miku's reassurance. ]

[ Fuck. So he was here, too. She certainly wasn't expecting this. Her entire demeanor shifts as she folds her arms, trying to maintain a cool composure. Inside, however, she's freaking out a little. She thought she finally escaped everything that had once weighed heavy on her mind, but apparently, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

She contemplates what she could possibly say to him. There's no real reason to be afraid — it's not like he has much power in a place like this. Even if he were to tell people, what would prompt them to fully believe him? This thought gives her slight confidence, but she treads carefully. ]

...Well, well, well, Mr. Justice. We meet again. I can't say I thought you would be here.

[ Her voice is cold and strained with thinly veiled resentment. She's going to put up a fight if she must. ]

[He isn't surprised at all by that change in manner. In fact, he'd been expecting it. He knows what she's really like.]

Well, I am here.

[Obviously.]

For one thing, you should be careful here, because it is dangerous.

[He means she should be careful about how she acts, who she tries to manipulate, but also, even though she's a murderer and he doesn't trust her in the least, he doesn't really want her to get hurt, or worse.]

For another thing, you can't escape from justice.

You should be worried. There's a war on, and powers aren't always enough. And just like you, not everyone here is what they seem.

I didn't say I had power over you. We're both citizens here. But I have friends, and there are people here who do work for justice, and I won't let you hurt anyone.

O-Oh...I see. A place full of strangers with all kinds of powers seems like it would make for a dangerous environment, though. I just hope there aren't any people here who would go crazy with them!
