The first would be that she wasn't exactly listening; getting sent to a new world can be pretty disorienting! Secondly, she's from the early twentieth century and what is this bizarre technology. She managed to access the touch screen, but that's about the most she can figure out. The solution? Press every button imaginable until something works.

[And then the video lurches before the communication ends altogether, because she sure did just trip and fall over.]

I don't think anyone really knows how to. I know of people who have gotten lucky, as in they were sent home. I'm sorry.

Well, they must have done something to get sent home, right? So we just have to find it!

You mean like a common factor that made the gods decide to send them? I guess.

[She opens her mouth to respond, but...]

Gods? [She basically didn't listen to anything the maid said to her, oops.]

Um, yeah! You know, the ones in charge of this whole operation? They pretty much decide who comes and goes, unfortunately.

Then... There has to be a way they decide who goes, doesn't there?

Yeah, probably! We wouldn't really know how for sure unless we asked them, but they're hard to get a hold of. So then we'd have to look at the common factors of those who have been sent back, but that'd require knowing everyone who was sent. It'd be pretty extensive. [ He pauses briefly. ] But maybe doable.

Maybe we could start writing it all down!

[ ohhh that just sounds like a lot of work. work that wouldn't even be much help. ] Y-yeah! We could do that...

Even if it didn't help us get home, I think it's good to know everyone who's left. Just so we can remember them, right?

[ This makes him smile genuinely. ] That's not a bad idea! I'm pretty sure there's a roster floating around here somewhere, but I don't think there's a list specifically keeping track of those who have disappeared. Or reappeared, for that matter.

Mmhmm... [ Rei looks uncomfortable for a second, because now he's just complicating things. It's all confusing to him, too. ] Look, maybe you should focus on getting yourself situated first, right?
