03 ☾ VIDEO ☾ ACTION FOR THOR
[So enter Bayonetta, who's sitting on a couch in Thor somewhere, whirling around her pink guns to show off her boredom for the day.]
Let me ask you a question, dears.
[A pause as the guns whirl in her hand to the left. She's not really paying attention to them.]
I know that most of us had powers back home, before we came here. Some of you didn't, but then again, I wouldn't expect you to answer this.
[Those guns then whirl again over to the right.]
While it is nice to at least have something here to compensate, it's not always enough.
[Now the guns whirl faster, hilt up, barrel down to the floor before switching hands and then barrel down to the floor once more.]
So how many of you miss what you had back home? I'm beginning to get bored sitting here and waiting, to be quite honest.
[And at that, the gun barrels rise to the screen of the bracelet in the blink of an eye, the witch looking amused, before lowering them once again.]
It could just be me, however~ You can't blame a girl when she gets bored, now can you?

[Action]
Turn that video off first, then I'll tell ya.
[Action]
Done. Now what do you have to say for yourself, darling~?
[Action]
The magic I possessed took souls. I used it to gain power an' I liked the feelin' it gave me. Here, it's nothin' more than a paperweight an' a useless ring.
Mind tellin' me why ya wanted t' know or is it because you're just curious?
[He's smirking now.]
[Action]
I assume you had a purpose for taking souls, am I right?
I would be lying if I said I don't miss my own. The powers of Inferno are wonderful to have, if you know how to use them.
[Action]
See, I had t' use a seal first before I could take 'em but when it was all said an' done, the rush at the end was amazing. I loved my work.
Sounds t' me like we have somethin' in common, am I right?
[He leans forward now and listens.]
[Action]
[But she's grinning quite a bit at his suggestion.]
Quite~ I kill angels back home, so I needed to use powers that were able to destroy them and have fun at the same time. Summoning was one of my favorite things to do. Gomorrah has a wonderful habit of eating them if he sees them.
[Action]
[He grins.]
Killin' angels. That sounds interesting. Now, I gotta ask, what's Gomorrah? Isn't like Saddam an' Gomorrah from those Bible stories?
[Action]
[She chuckles a little.]
Gomorrah is a local down in Inferno. He usually spends his time in the forests there, because he enjoys being among the trees. But he's a dragon, if you're curious.
[Action]
[He chuckles a bit.]
Coincidence? Yeah, I think so.
[Action]
[She's genuinely curious.]
Perhaps. Gomorrah wasn't the only thing I could summon. I had quite a few fiends I could call on and use to help me fight.
[Action]
I can't control Leviathan. That was my boss' concern. I controlled my armor an' it did me well. I kick a lot o' ass with it. See, Leviathan devoured the souls we collected. He was supposed t' destroy the old world so we could rebuild it.
[He looks like he's thinking for a moment.]
I didn't really see the purpose. I had my own agenda. What I really wanted was t' take out my boss an' take his power then Leviathan would be mine to control. It's gutsy, yeah but I never really liked the idea of destroyin' the world. I wanted t' rule it.
[Action]
[Bayonetta isn't too fond of people wanting to alter the world or rule it, because it reminds her of Balder. Still, Varon looks harmless and he has no intent (that she can tell, at least), to really harm anyone in Asgard.]
[Action]
[He pauses for a moment.]
Come t' think of it, rulin' anything that big by myself would be too much of a headache an' I hate pills.
[Varon has no intentions of anything like that in Asgard.]
[Action]
[She's smiling again. You really are something, Varon.]
[Action]
Yeah. If it means overthrowin' a wannabe god t' do it, sure. No one else'll stand up to 'im that's for damn sure. The world belongs to the people an' never to one. 'Sides, that's too much to handle for just one an' I don't wanna be a god an' I'm no savior.
[Action]
[She pauses, debating on how to continue.] When I had first started out looking for who I was, I had no interest in anyone else. As long as I got what I wanted, everything else could fall apart, for all I cared.
But the more I pursued it, the more I found I was wrong. It wasn't about myself, but about much more than that. In the end, I was essentially fighting for the exact opposite reason I had started.
The world shouldn't be reborn, regardless of the mistakes made. It still has a chance to heal, even if the scars run deep.
[Action]
To me, it was my ticket t' regain what was lost but at th' time, it was a selfish endeavor.
[He is definitely more at ease talking about it now than he was three years ago.]
Call it confusion, call it fate, call it selfish stupidity but the more I learned of his plan, the more I wanted to break free from 'im t' return to the life I once had.
The world doesn't need a new god. It needs guidance an' the only way that happens is through the people. It's still young an' it's growin' up. Same with the people livin' in it.
Without th' scars, we never learn. Heh, funny now that I think 'bout it, the only ones I really went after were the ones that more like me. The misguided an' confused were my targets. I'm talkin' the drug pushers, the gang leaders, the blokes tha' thought that rulin' the underbelly was the way to control what's up above. They're more like leeches but there was a purpose to them.
The corrupted ones...yeah, without them, there would be no right an' wrong. They made things interesting.
Asgard has that means t' learn, t' grow. I'm thrilled to see it happen an' if I were to return today, my mind's been made up that I won't follow through with his plan an' instead focus on breakin' Mai from that vampire called revenge.
[Action]
[Bayonetta whirls one of her guns again, the barrel coming up to her glasses and shifting them upwards, curious about how she met Varon so quickly and easily. A lot of people could really take the same advice he was now giving her.]
However, if we aren't stubborn, then we won't learn what is good, or what is bad. Even in childish moments we can still retain something from it.
[Action]
[Those guns may be intimidating to the average person but to Varon, it's part of what makes her true to who she is. He saw her practice with them a few times from his window.]
See, sometimes the stubborn ones are blind too. They think they're doin' right but it's the opposite. It's the immature ones, the ones that need the kick in the pants once in a while are the ones that benefit the most.
Like ya said, it's in the mindset of the individual. So, pickin' up where the horse dropped ya isn't such a bad thing when it's for the right reasons. Maybe people'll benefit if they open up their eyes enough t' see that the bad's there too for a reason.
I'm not here t' change the world. I think that's the wrong way t' go 'bout it. Here, I think Asgard is askin' for diversity when it had none.
[Action]
[She gives him a wry grin.]
They want us to work together, to defeat the enemies in Ragnarok, and to color the world.
[Action]
What's you're ability aside from the guns?
video
More and more every day. Their loss is not unfamiliar, though it is no less frustrating each time. You are the only one tired of sitting and waiting, I can assure you.

[A simple shrug] Hence, it's a mistake to rely on one's supernatural abilities alone. Even the ones that they have so graciously gifted us with could be taken away if we were to earn their ire.
no subject
Relying on your powers is all too common back home. I can deal just fine without them, but it's always nice to have that little push when I want.
[And by push, she means punching angels to absolute smithereens with giants fists of feet and hair. Oh, and having summoned beats eat them, too. That always was a plus.]
no subject
Then I am glad to agree on their usefulness in this way. Power without something more to back it is ultimately a waste.
[A smile does come forward, with a hint of sarcasm] It's the problem many gods face, in my experience. Or any beings given great power, but they are the ones that are most relevant for now.
no subject
[Whether you smile or not is irrelevant, Lucifer. But she does enjoy talking to you so far.]
Unfortunately the only gods I am familiar back home are actually goddesses. Both had very interesting and unique views on the world and the planes in between.
no subject
[There's a pause, but he continues after a beat,] But they often do. Goddesses especially, for some reason. You could attribute it to gender, but at such a high level of existence, gender is only a formality. The goddesses I have met have been significantly more pleasant to deal with than their male counterparts.
no subject
I've often found men are far more arrogant than women, but perhaps that is just my own experience. [She listens, interested, a flick of her guns while Lucifer tells her about his world. Then she mentions about her own.]
Jubileus- she was known as the Creator, and resides- [A quick pause as she corrects herself.] resided, actually, in Paradiso- had one particular idea in mind. She believed in going back to the beginning, bearing the world in equality, between Chaos, Dark, and Light. If someone awoke her, she would end the world and rebirth it in that same idea. And she very nearly succeeded, at being summoned, I mean.
Queen Sheba is the other I am familiar with. She resides in Inferno. While I don't know much about her, I know that she is a very powerful goddess, and has quite the sense of humor.
no subject
The witch hunts we have in common, but not these goddesses. Jubileus is an interesting case. Those who claim to be Creators do not often wish for a rebirth. That idea is very much a human creation. Most gods are content to sit back and watch the world progress, provided they do not stand at extinction. An end of Creation means their end as well.
[He wonders, though, based on the names of their residences, if Queen Sheba is the equivalent of himself. It sounds accurate enough.] I am curious, however. Is Inferno another name for Hell? I would assume so, based on the literary reference, but I would hate to assume incorrectly.
no subject
To them, it was worth dying over.
[She pauses at this, thinking.]
Perhaps, darling. My world is separated into five realms: Paradiso, Purgatorio, Inferno, the Human realm and Limbo. I would assume it's the equivalent, but we have no devil who runs everything. It's much more along the lines of its own world, in and of itself.
[ action ]
There's a ton of crap I don't miss at home, but fighting with all my abilities is something I do. This world is bullshit.
[ action ]
You wouldn't be the first.

video;
What is that? [He hesitates a moment, because he's not entirely sure what to call it but given the subject of this post he's making an educated guess.] The -- weapon -- you hold in your hand.
video;
Well, I'm glad to see not all of us had powers that left us helpless! I myself know how to fight just as well without my powers, though they gave me much more fun, in the end.
[Bayonetta twirls one of the guns and then smirks.] Have you ever heard of what a gun is, darling? That's what these are.
video;
video;
[Bayonetta actually pauses, lowering one of them and laying out in front of the bracelet so Altaïr can see.
The first thing she does is point to the barrel.]
A gun is made metal, and this is called the barrel. It's a tube that guides a bullet out to a target you aim at. And bullets- [She actually opens the gun to pull out one of them-] Most that I know are shaped like these. They're made of metal as well, and gunpowder sends them out when you pull the trigger. [A hand goes and points out the trigger beneath the barrel for him to see.] They go extremely fast, and can kill anyone instantly if you aim correctly. Some bullets are even made to tear at the insides once they hit something.
[A quick snap of the wrist, and she has the weapon back together instantly.] If they don't have any guns where you are, do you know of anything that sounds similar, at least? Perhaps I can help you understand it better that way.
video;
It sounds similar to a crossbow, the weapon the Christians use for their Crusades. Further broken down it sounds like it shares similarities with a basic bow. With more metal.
What is gunpowder? And how many of those--bullets, how many of them can be loaded into the gun at once?
video
[ A pause. ]
What were yours, if you don't mind me asking?
video
[There's a second of pause before she returns a grin.]
Quite a bit. I'm a witch, after all. My powers were related to Inferno.
no subject
[ Hone Onna raises her eyebrows in interest and tilts her head to the side. ]
Inferno?
no subject
[She nods.]
Yes, I'm sure you've heard of similar names such as Hell, or possibly the Nine Levels of the Abyss?
