Still, where other people hadn't understood how she could be so easygoing with everything, she had kept her hope that he would be back again. No matter what happened between them, Equius was her best friend, her moirail. Shaky as things had been with Nepeta questioning for the first time in their relationship if Equius really had what was best in mind for her, her fears subsided for now.

She was just happy he was back. Thrilled, even.

It appeared to be just like last time, with Equius not remembering anything about his previous two arrivals. That might have even been a good thing -- he wouldn't remember the turmoil they had gone through. She'd have to bring it up eventually of course -- she didn't keep secrets from Equius -- but for now she could relish in the fact that he was back and, more importantly, he was okay. ]
