[When the audio clicks on, there's really nothing to listen to at first but the sound of the wind. Riku's somewhere up high, the roof of some building in Freya probably. And for a while he doesn't say a word until he sighs, and his voice sounds a little hollow.]

More people arriving again. They still give no explanation for it all. [Just the sliiightest bit of contempt in his voice.]

...Just make sure you all stick and stay, okay?

[Because Riku's spent the past few days running around like crazy looking for Sora and Kairi after finding their numbers unreachable and out of service. After all the work and promise to get her to remember Sora, it's all down the drain now. Back somewhere oblivious while Riku has to deal with the saving the world deal. Something Sora's better at.

He pauses, and scoffs lightly to himself. There's something metallic flying through the air; he's slashing at the air with his sword out of boredom.]

Anyone looking for a sparring partner? I need to get a few things off of my mind.

[He smiles, though it's not as easy as he'd like it to be. He looks fine from afar, but his eyes are tired. Riku's always had trouble sleeping, but he's been spending most of his nights out combing the city.]

Hey. Thanks for coming.

[It's easy for her to see. Sometimes, Minako is a bit too observant for her own good. Continuing, though!] Anytime. I could always use a good spar too. We gotta stay sharp, right?

Yeah. [He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. Normally, he's not much for fighting against girls, unless they're really, really awful, but it's just a spar.]

Sometimes fairies and dragons aren't enough.

[It's good he's not refusing, though. She may be a little insulted if he'd said that to her. Still, she offers a small laugh.]

They don't really have the same kind of technique a person will give you.

[HE MEANS PERSONALITY-WISE AWFUL. Mean people like Larxene that are just asking for it.

Not really.

[He's never gone up against a naginata before. It makes him a little tense.]

Wanna start?

Whenever you're ready! [She takes her stance, feet planted firmly on the ground with the naginata gripped just as tightly in her hands.]

Just don't expect me to go easy on you, got it?

[He takes his own, usual stance. Blade in one hand above his head with his other hand out stretched before him. Wielding a real sword was different than having a Keyblade, but he was getting used to it.]

No worries here, Minako-chan. [He'll wait for her to make the first move though.]

[She takes the cue, lunging forward; it's an easy to block hit, mostly as a warmup.]

[And block it he does, holding the blade flat against his open hand. Her weapon's got a lot more reach than he's used to, but goes in for his own swipe anyways overhead, using his height and limbs to his advantage.]

[It's definitely not the sort of sparring she's used to, in any case. She moves to the side, only barely pulling her naginata enough for the blades to cross, clanging loudly. His strength is notable though, as her footing falters slightly at the collision.]

[Definitely a different kind of sparring.

His eye catches her footing and he backs off a bit, putting a bit of distance between himself and the end of her staff. Staying in close all the time probably isn't the best approach.]

[That's all she needs, and as she catches her footing, Minako turns on her heels, swinging the pole in his direction. All's fair in a spar, right?]

[All fair in love, war and a spar. Yup.

He narrowly dodges the blunt end of the pole to the gut, leaning and hopping to the side.

And almost losing his own footing. He was right to be cautious of the reach, but how far she'd use it is a different story.]

[With the push and pull - and way they both seemed to lose their footing, it felt like a very even match. She recognizes his ability, and takes that as a good thing that she's still pretty sharp, even without constant trips to Tartarus.]

[She pulls the pole back for a brief moment, giving him enough of a chance to regain his footing before spinning and lunging towards him again, letting out a "haaaah!" as the weight of the naginata shifts.]

[The free moment was appreciated and were they not really fighting against each other, he would have nodded a thanks for the chance.

Spinning, huh? Maybe he's feeling a little gutsy today. There's a chance he might get struck by her blow, but Riku darts forward unarmed, and weaker arm up to brace for impact and the sword trailing behind his body just waiting for a chance.

Lets see how she handles close quarters.]

[It's definitely not a move she expects to see, and noticing the path of her blade, it's almost certain to hit him. She views her combat as better at a distance, so making quick work to try and spin the pole so she only hits him with the back side of the blade is all she can do.]

[She doesn't want to hurt him at all; but she figures if it connects, a bruising will be better than cleaning up a flesh wound and possibly taking him out of commission for fighting for any length of time. Of course, she's hoping he has a trick up his sleeve and that he'll at least attempt to block with his sword, but she's admittedly not sure what to expect.]

[He's making a gamble, and normally sparring wouldn't results in someone getting injured, but Riku doesn't mind. It's his move, his choice to go in close. It won't be her fault if he gets injured in his mind.

It connects on his shoulder, and he guesses a bruise is going to form afterward. He brings up his sword and, not wanting to hurt her, tries to swipe only with the flat side of his blade at one of her legs.]

Ah-! [She lets out a small yelp, feeling the sting of the cold metal against her leg. Even if it was the back of the blade, it still managed to hurt. Minako wasn't quite able to shift her naginata in time -- that was the problem with close ranged fighting.]

[As soon as she has the opportunity, she hops back, making an attempt to put some distance between them, as well as shift her weight to the other leg until the pain subsides.]
