[This is a post of two halves. First half -- ACTION!
If you responded with interest to Conan's last post advertising for volunteers to gather donations/assemble emergency kits (or even if you didn't -- your character is free to have heard of it via word of mouth or the radio show, and show up to help! Conan's managed to find a friendly restaurant owner in Loki who has opened his shop on his usual closing day so that the travellers have a space to work in appreciation for their help defending and rebuilding (and will be allowing them to use the kitchen to make free hot drinks throughout the afternoon). Volunteers, make sure to label your comment [action] and feel free to threadjack other volunteers -- only natural that people working in the same place'd notice each other right?]
---oOO---
[VIDEO]
[Look, it's that tiny Japanese kid that keeps getting all up in your networks, Asgard. He's back -- though this time, he's coming to you from a restaurant in Loki. There's considerable activity happening behind him -- cans of fruit, matches, flashlights, space blankets, all sorts, all bundled up neatly and being placed into easily transportable backpacks.]
Ne, ne -- you remember I posted about Seth-niichan and me making emergency kits for everyone? Well, we got a lot of offers of help and we've been working all day -- and we're done! There's one for everyone who requested one, and a couple of extra for each house so we can be sure they're evenly distributed. You're free to come and collect them now. Hurry, so you don't miss out!
((ooc: apologies for how rushed this is! I lost track of the time we had until the next plot event. Please bear with me and feel free to jump in any where you'd like. If you'd like to pretend your character requested a kit in advance, go ahead! If you're too busy to reply now but would like to have one anyway, that's cool too! /o/))

[God, Conan. You're such a collection of depressing medical knowledge.]
Eh? Why was that, Apollo-san?
For kids -- ah, you mean like a school? Nothing like that! There was one girl who wanted to be a teacher, but she looks like she's twelve and one day I saw her riding through Hel on a board tied to those flying bats that came with the scavenger hunt, so I don't think she's exactly a model teacher ...
The hardest thing is meals.
[action]
[Apollo seems to be joining in with the depressing knowledge, but he thinks it's only sensible to alert others to the dangers of hypothermia, worrier that he is. He lives in LA himself, but he watches documentaries about these things!]
I was pretty independent, since I had to take care of myself a lot. Not that I didn't like being on my own.
A school or something like that. No, she doesn't sound very teachery... though there are a lot of different kinds of people here, and it's hard to tell with some of them. But exactly, kids shouldn't be asked to do things like make meals for themselves--no offense. You seem a lot more responsible than most kids.
[action]
Ne, why is that?
Even if we know about stuff like cooking, it's much harder to do when you can't reach the stove without a chair! I mostly make toast or sandwiches ... A place where we could go one a day for an actual cooked meal would be really nice ...
[action]
Oh, I spent time in foster care and at a youth center, so I wasn't exactly alone, but I didn't have family around, so I got used to it. [He doesn't want it to sound like it was bad.]
That's a good point. We should see about something like that. [He shakes his head.] There's so much that needs to be organized.
[action]
So that's why Apollo-san asked.
But no shortage of people who'd help if they knew, I'm sure! I mean, look at how many came to help here today?
