[ When the video feed clicks on, a face that may be familiar greets the camera, though she's wearing an expression that would be out of character of her lookalike, Elena Gilbert. Her lips are twisted into an unamused smirk. ]

Whatever this is, it isn't funny. Do these gods really expect me to help them without anything in it for me? [ She pauses, thinking it over. ] This is up there with the most interesting thing to happen to me this week. Maybe you're in luck after all, Loki. At least I won't be completely bored.

[Well -- this seems a lot more like the brief impression he got of Elena from their conversation. But seeing her again, the uncanny resemblance is even more apparent.]

[ She smiles then, her demeanor shifting into something more friendly. As far as she's aware, he's just a kid. ] I'm Katherine.

That's right! I'm from Tokyo.

[Conan returns the smile easily.] It's nice to meet you, Katherine-san. I'm Conan.

It's been a while since I've visited Tokyo.

Visiting. I had some spare time, so I thought I would go globe trotting.

Ah -- it's quiet for a bit. Then something happens -- the dragon attack, or the gods decide we need to do something. They made us make cupcakes or do a scavenger hunt -- and there was the New Year's Party as well!

A dragon attack and you were forced to make cupcakes? [ She sounds dubious. ] That sounds like an odd combination. It's certainly not what I had in mind for their nefarious schemes.

Well, not forced ... it was a competition! Between everyone in all the districts! Each house could put in as many entries as they liked and in the end, the house with the best cupcakes got a prize! We didn't know what the prizes were then, but they were even more trivial than the competition.

That's not a waste of time at all.

There's a lot about this that -- doesn't seem logical.

[ Of all the people she knows who could possibly be brought here, of course it would have to be Katherine. Colour her displeased. ]

You've got to be kidding me. [ Shining pinnacle of maturity right now. ] Loki's officially nuts if he expects help from someone like you.

[ So she wasn't the only one from home brought here. It might have been a relief to anyone else, but as far as Katherine was concerned, Caroline was a poor choice. ]

They thought you would be of any help? [ She rolls her eyes. ] Don't make me laugh.

You're right. They must be losing their minds.

[ Wow. Rude. Other than a roll of her eyes, she's content to (mostly) overlook Katherine's offhanded insults. It's not like she isn't fairly accustomed to them by this point. ]

Shouldn't you be clawing at the walls trying to find a way out or something? I don't know if your powers of perception are out of whack, but you're stuck here just like the rest of us.

Let me think about it... [ Katherine taps a finger to her cheek pretending to actually ponder the situation. ] Would I prefer to be in Chicago on the run from Klaus again or here in a place with no sign of him?

[ She's more concerned than she'd ever let on -- she's never been good at being a rat in a cage -- but she wasn't about to let Caroline know she was already attempting to form an escape plan. An escape plan that was currently at a very dead end. ]

[ An unsettling smirk creeps onto Katherine's face. So there were more people she knew beyond just Caroline here. That was definitely interesting, to say the least. ]

Still waiting on Prince Charming to come home from his crazy binge in Chicago? It looks like he'll have to make a bit of a journey to rescue you now. It's a shame -- we were having so much fun.

No, I'm not. If he wants to shut everyone out of his life and go back to destroy himself, that's his business. Besides... He's not even here. [ She's still clinging to hope, but do you think she's about to tell YOU that? N o p e. ]

[ And there was the information Katherine had hoped to weasel out of Elena. So Stefan wasn't here. It was disappointing, but Katherine managed to hide her upset perfectly. ]

[ Teasing: ] Don't sound so distraught over it.

He's not even him anymore, Katherine.

[ Elena was right, but Katherine wasn't about to verbally agree with her. So instead, she replies to the statement with a smug smirk. ]

He's a vampire, Elena. Did you ever stop to think that maybe this is who he truly was?

I have to agree. Until now this place has proven to be less than exciting but I suppose it depends where you come from.

I think it's suffice to say that I had a lot going on back at home.
