01 [ Video ] || Action Open to Sigyn House peeps

[ Having long perfected the art of stealth, Chane Laforet has been a silent presence on the network for a few days, now. She's gathered the information she could, done the proper exploring once the sun had set each night in this strange, grey world, and made sure to trust no one.
The communication device was unlike anything from her time or world, but was basic enough in design that she caught on after a few fumbles, that would have been more noticeable to the network had she not been a mute.

And so. A woman with short, black hair looks at the community with a determined, if slightly confused, expression, and holds up a set of FLASH CARDS, as if she's presenting a project to a bunch of colleagues. She holds up one note, which reads: ]

"I have misplaced the map I was given by the maid-woman."

[ Then shuffles it to the back, pulling out the next. ]

"Please, if anyone can reproduce something like this for me, I would appreciate it."

[ Her expression becomes slightly uncomfortable, as she's now second-guessing this entire decision. Nevertheless, she holds up another awkwardly floppy poster board. ]

"Can the people here see if some have no eyes? Some speak though I do not see their mouths."

[ And another one. This time she's holding it up in front of her face, so she doesn't have to feel as awkward... ]
"If I could be shown where to go to acquire the proper materials to arm myself,
that would be very helpful too."

[ Final note! ]

"Thank you for reading this message."

[ And she just slowly ... puts down all the notes, and sits, staring way too intensely at the video feed. She seems to be RIGHT outside the Sigyn House, so that should be recognizable enough, and is very under-dressed for the weather! ]

[ Oop! She's up in his arms, clutching at him tightly, and trying to push down any abashed feelings that were threatening to clout her mind. She looks down at the ground, then ahead... and then over at Claire, trying to keep her feet still so they don't rub some of the mud off on to her dress. ]

[hotshit]

[This is... Claire's dream come true! He's carrying a woman in a wedding dress, bridal-style... and taking her home. His heart is beating so fast that she'll definitely be able to feel it if she presses against him firmly enough.]

Even with the added weight of your dress, you're still pretty light... hah. [His knees are buckling, from the tension in his muscles building up. He's overly excited.]

[silentmode]

[ She just blinks at that, not understanding if it's a compliment or what. She can definitely feel his heart beating fast, which reminds her that even though she and Claire moved at a snail's pace, she still had to allow that pace to be recreated to its most natural extent.

So Chane just sort of doesn't know how to make him calm down, and looks a bit helpless as she ponders that. She rests her head against where his collarbone would be, his scarf acting as a nice little cushion. ]

[hotshit]

[Oh... Gosh. Claire sighs happily, willing his legs to start moving.] I was meanin' to ask you a few things about yourself, but I'm not quite sure where to start, right now. Hah... [He keeps making little hah's under his breath.]

[silentmode]

...? [ She's just going to peek up at him, though it's more like peeking up at his chin/jaw. She's waiting, though she's not sure how well she can answer in this condition, and what kind of inferences Claire could make without proper eye contact or writing. Still, she's sure simple "yes" or "no" questions will suffice. ]

[hotshit]

I already know a lot about you, or at least everything that should be important. Ahh, what else is there? Oh! How about this: how old are you? [He peers down at her, teeth showing in his smile.]

[silentmode]

... [ Her expression gets a bit more serious, for a moment, at him saying that he knows a lot about her... or everything that "should be important" -- but, Claire's a beginner at this. There's no reason to hold it too much against him.

She holds up two fingers, puts them down, then makes a circle with her thumb and index finger. ]

[hotshit]

[Whoops, /sticks foot in mouth.] Ooh. You're not much younger than me, in that case.

How old were you when we first met?

[silentmode]

[ Chane signals the number eighteen to Claire, wondering if he's going to change the subject soon. She realizes he's trying to discern how much time has passed between when they've met, and when she's arrived into his new world.

Looking ahead, she sees they're coming out of the woods soon. ]

[hotshit]

Ah, you're quite younger than me, then, aren't you? You think that would be a problem for your father? [He doesn't say anymore, realizing it's a sensitive subject for her. He keeps his eyes on her, even as they get to the clearing.]

[silentmode]

[ She tugs at his scarf once more, once they're approaching the town. There's no reason to be carried past this point, and with a serious and determined expression, she's making it quite clear that she doesn't want to be carried any further!

She's not commenting on her age. It's irrelevant, now that it's been years, anyway. ]

[hotshit]

Oh! Do you want me to put you down? [He tilts his arms to carefully let her slide down.]

[silentmode]

[ She drops down in a graceful movement, placing the veil back on to her head and readjusting it properly, before composedly gathering up layers of her dress once more.

Well, then.

She looks at Claire, waiting for him to lead the way. ]

[hotshit]

[He pauses.

And then holds up his hand, palm up.] If I can't hold you through town, could you at least give me this?

[silentmode]

. . . [ She looks at Claire's hand, then holds up her own to it, not quite touching. She's waiting for Claire to take it, if that's what he desires.

This is definitely what she's most comfortable with, herself. [

[hotshit]

[He takes her hand in his, holding it a bit awkwardly since he's not lacing their fingers together! He's new at this.] All right, shall we get goin' then?

[silentmode]

...? [ She nods, but then furrows her brows in confusion. Where to? ]

[hotshit]

[TO YOUR HOUSE DUMDUMS. Claire leads the way, kind of... trying to walk as close to her as he can. He's absolutely giddy, looking left and right to see if people are taking notice of him walking with his gf.] Do we have an anniversary? Ah, what am I thinkin'!? Today's gonna be our anniversary!

[silentmode]

[ Chane looks a bit embarrassed at answering any of those questions, haha. She's not sure how to approach this! So she just sort of nervously nods at his suggestion that today is their anniversary, feeling a bit overwhelmed and squeezing his hand in the process.

Perhaps... I shouldn't have informed him so soon...

She's not sure if she can handle what this means, or at least, in a proper manner. There's a degree of emotional control here that she wasn't used to having.

Looking over at Claire's expression, she can tell he's on cloud nine, and incredibly proud to be seen with a girl. ]

... [ And so she turns her face away from him, before it can burn even more, looking at the faceless villagers as she passes by.

He mustn't think that just because I've come from a different time, that it will be simple to pick up.

"The important stuff."

Claire's voice echoes through her mind, as she reminds herself that she needs to address a couple of assumptions he has, eventually. ]

[hotshit]

[He looks over at her, swinging their arms a little.] Do you got a favourite movie?

[silentmode]

... [ She looks down at their swinging hands, and then ...when Claire asks her her favourite movie, she stops walking!

And pulls her hand away, stepping in front of him! And putting both of her hands up. ]

[hotshit]

! [His attention is immediately on her, looking very invested in this sudden action of hers.]

[silentmode]

[ She holds up four fingers! ]

[hotshit]

Four words!

[ Chane shakes her head! ]
