[Here's Gau, standing dressed in an apron in a professional-looking kitchen. Everything around him is spotless, of course. He's grinning broadly, and holding himself very straight, as if proud of himself. In fact, the bracelet is obviously propped enough away from his body to show off the scenery on purpose.]

Hey, everyone! If I could just have your attention for a moment? I'll be opening a bakery of my own - known as Rainy Day Treats - very soon! I know a few of you stopped by Sigyn House not long ago when I had brought some things home, so you might know my baking style!

[He hadn't really planned it that way, but hey, if it worked, it worked.]

Anyway, I'll actually need to do some hiring before the doors open, so if you're looking for a job and can either bake, work a cash register, deal with customers, or wait tables, let me know? We're located in Sigyn District, but of course everyone is welcome.

((OOC note: Jobs are basically first-come, first-serve, unless your character is very rude to Gau or something, but the application is on his journal here. Feel free to just post the application there, respond here ICly, both, or just... heckle him or show support.))

[He pauses to stare at Gau's surroundings - never seen a kitchen like that before..! It's so. Shiny]

[Here, have a warm smile and russet eyes bright with that thing called pride as Raikou props his chin on his knuckles.]

You've done well, Gau. It looks exactly as I'd expect from you - I'll have to look forward to your opening day, hm.

Though since I'll be busy with getting my own place set up, I guess you'll have to settle for negotiating a daily supply contract~

[He's going to visit that bakery EVERY DAY. Even if he probably won't have money for anything... which he doesn't know about yet. Poor thing.]

How soon?! How soon?!

Well, of course! Who would want to buy food from a place with a dirty kitchen?

[It's also not in use yet, really, but that's beside the point. Gau will be sure it always stays as clean as possible. He can't help it.]

Hmmm.

[He likes that look in Raikou's eyes. That pride, for things that Gau himself is good at, for things that come natural to him. Not just trying to fit himself into a role that maybe shouldn't have been his in the first place.

Not that he's not still training; he is. But it's nice to see Raikou look at him that way for this too.]

I think we can work something out.

[He can't help but giggle and feel audacious.]

I might even give you a discount!

[This is not a human face. He's seen a few non-humans around the network, and in other places, but it still surprises him when it happens.

He jumps, just a little, before blushing and responding.]

Oh! I'll have it ready to open in a few days, even if I don't get anyone wanting to work here right away? Next week or so, maybe?

[That earns him one delicate arch of a brow, alright.]

In that case, I suppose I might still consider offering to trade in kind with your favorite washi paper but now I guess I'll have to see how expensive this deal is going to be, of course.

[Because an exclusive style just for packages from Gau's bakery? Something he'd only do for Gau without charging the full price of.]

[When you live your whole life as a talking reindeer you don't really mind any kind of reaction so he just keeps on talking excitedly.]

Great! I'll go everyday, since I live in Sigyn! I'm sure someone would want to work there since it's a bakery, and you'd be around sweets! I know someone that cooks but I don't know if he'd want to work there... maybe! I'll ask him. He'd probably say yes if there was at least a girl there. I wish I could work but I've never really had a job, but I bet it'd be really fun! Being around cakes and cookies all day... [Of course he doesn't want to work, he just wants to eat.]

[Suddenly, the teasing is entirely gone from Gau's expression, not that he'd been doing very good at it anyway. In fact, it's replaced with pure childish excitement. The teen jumps toward the counter, scrambles for the bracelet, and pushes the button to make the screen hop up to rest in front of his face.

He gets right up in it, his eyes wide.]

Really, Raikou-san? Your special washi paper design? You'll really trade me..!?

I'm glad that you finally could open your own business, congrats, Gau!

[locked- easily hackable because he's not exactly tech savvy.]

I saw your conversation with Mr. Ayame. Are you alright? you seemed a bit upset.

Ah, Gau. You're starting a business?

[He's rather suspicious about that part. It does sound like the main interest here is eating. But...]

Well, if you really want to work, you could come by and I could try to find something for you to do? I mean, I don't know what you're good at, but ... we could see?

[He waves a hand.]

And of course your friend who cooks could stop by, if they want! I want to give everyone a chance who is interested!

[He should really be polite and thank Laurent for the kind words but he's immediately distracted by the rest of what his friend said.]

I-oh no- I never thought about the fact that just anyone could- what have I?

[He looks like he might be panicking a little here.]

[But Laurent is now confused about why is he panicking.]

Anyone could what...? It's something wrong?

I am! It's really exciting!

[He pauses for a second and then adds...]

You know, a girl told me that you liked to bake too... is it true?

No, no, it's just...

[He shakes his head a little too vigorously, and then looks around, even though he knows he's alone here.]

I didn't think about the fact that it was public. That just anyone could see me having such an embarrassing conversation. About something like that.

Well, I'm actually a doctor so I'd probably be more helpful with a medical-based job. ...but, I love sweets. Aah, it's so hard to pick! I-I'll see! But I'll let my friend know about the job too. He's the best cook I know and his baking is amazing too!

Oh...that's true.

[He smiles just a bit, embarrassed]

Used to the kitchen at home...it's small. 'n there are a lot of people in my family.

[He nods at that, smiling brightly.] That's right, I do.

In fact, I was just thinking about asking if perhaps you still need a baker.

OH! Then your talents really would be wasted. But...

[He pauses, and then adds...]

You should come by sometime anyway. I'll even give you a free sample, on the house, if you come by after we open up shop.

That would make it pretty hard to keep clean, I guess.

[He grins.]

I have to admit, the kitchen was a huge part of why I wanted to open a bakery. I can make things for myself and my friends here too now, after all. But the loan... well... I do hope the business does well.

[Gau grins and moves toward the screen, excitedly.]

I was hoping you'd ask, actually! Do you want to come by sometime in the next couple of days, for an interview of sorts?

Ah, a bakery? That must be a wonderful addition to the area! I will be certain to stop by soon.

Oh.....oooh [And Laurent just noticed the implication of that. Now he feels bad for minding in Gau's business.] I'm sorry, I didn’t knew that was supposed to be private. I didn’t mean to pry. I didn’t thought that kisses where embarrassing for some people.

[Since, they mean little to him.]

I hope so! I'm very excited about it. I would love to see you stop by, Leonardo!

[The -sama that he wants to add is held behind his teeth, cut off carefully, determinedly.]
