- am I doing this right? I confess I've never seen magic quite like this in nature. It must be remarkably convenient, though…!

[He pauses for half a second. He's not sure if anyone from his homeland is here, but depending on who is, it could make life quite a bit more complicated if the wrong people were here and knew about him. So while he was about to give his name, he quickly changes gears to -]

- would not wish to leave this land in need, if it truly requires our help, but nor can I afford to tarry here long, when my own homeland is still in grave danger and my help is needed there. I would like to know exactly what is expected of us, as the letter was not...particularly specific. The more we know, the sooner we can fulfill this duty, and I can hardly be the only one here who is needed elsewhere.

[...well, that just confirms his moment of deep confusion. He'd thought Celice was making it sound like it had been a while, and apparently that was exactly what he meant to imply, but -]

[--Huh? He'd been hoping the gap in time would be smaller. Though it's heartening to know that he hasn't been missing at a time he might have been needed.]

Only an hour? I... I can only imagine the gods brought us here from the same day. [And isn't something like that still a weird thought? Not that he understands it completely yet.] But I don't know how it can account for three weeks like that...

...I suppose the situation is already implausible enough.

[What's one more impossible thing today. Sob.]

I can't deny that. All of this... This entire city is like nothing I thought could exist.

It's so...gray. It's a little eerie.

[And nobody's even shown him TV or chicken nuggets yet. True culture shock has yet to set in.]

I haven't, yet! Truthfully, there's so much here that it's a little hard deciding where to start.

It really is a rather large city, with quite a lot of people as well. I'm... still exploring it myself, but I'd be glad to help you however I can.

There's no one I'd rather go with, Lord Celice.

[A nod and a grin, followed by a short pause.] Regardless of the circumstances... It is good to see you again, Prince Leaf.

I feel a little strange saying the same, when it hasn't been long at all for me, but the feeling is mutual.

I suppose the difference in time will take some getting used to.

At least it's only a few weeks. Imagine how much more awkward it could be!

...to be honest, thinking too hard about how time mightwork here is making my head hurt.
