video ϟ
[ The video comes on and Hermione settles a few pieces of notepaper before she speak. ]
Hello, everyone. I know it's been a long time but I've finally finished writing up all my notes about Asgard and everyone's worlds. I know it doesn't quite cover all the worlds that have been introduced here but it's a start! If you'd like to add anything then, please, let me know as soon as you're able.
[ She smiles, softly, expression bright. She's very proud of herself, really, and more than glad that she's finally able to contribute something solid and real to Asgard. She's finally able to put all her research together and actually show it to her friends and acquaintances and, maybe, actually help them in the long run. ]
It's a digital file, so I think you should all be able to access it using your bracelets. If you have any problems then, please, let me know and I'll do whatever I can to help.
[ LINKED: Hermione's guide and notes on the City of Asgard. ]
Otherwise, how is everyone? Things have been quieter than usual, which I think is a good thing, so I hope that means well for you all.
[ She pauses, pursing her lips, before she shakes her head and sighs just before the feed turns off. ]

Don't know if there's anything the others from my world haven't told ye that ye can think of but if there's any other questions they've not answered I could maybe have a go at them. Have ye not been to Utgard, though? It's not so far from here as all that.

Ah, I'm from the same place at the Doctor, although I'm from Earth and not Gallifrey. I travel with him, though. Or...well, I did before I came here. I've done so with him here, too, although it's not quite the same as it is back home. There you'd never know where we were going to wind up next. Here's a bit different. I have been to Utgard, though, and ye might want to mention it's a wee bit more, um, what do ye call it. Technologically advanced than Asgard.

[And then it occurs to him that height isn't something that's as easy to tell on video as it would be face to face, and he grimaces briefly.]
Er, not that ye can tell how tall I am on this thing. Ye can just put down he's the second one. Utgard, though, I'd say is actually closer to Earth, just not Earth in my day. There's cars and one of those subway systems, and lots of those computers, but there's a few things that are a bit further along, like those forcefield-things.
[ Still... This is fascinating. ]
It seems like it's a few decades ahead of the technology of my world. We have cars and subways but we haven't quite managed forcefields yet.
[He's still going to stick with that as a name/number, even after finding out about the War Doctor. It's just easier that way. And he doesn't seem bothered at all by Hermione referring to him as "her" Doctor, because he's quite familiar with that feeling.]
Mine's a wee bit childish like that a lot too. They're not entirely alike, but similar enough I wonder sometimes. Do ye mind if I ask when you're from, then, if you've not got those force-field things yet?
[ It definitely seems like the easiest way to refer to them - a number, if they all have the same name. Still, it's a little confusing and she wishes she knew them all, at least, so she could identify them better. ]
I don't mind at all! The year I'm from is 2000.
[Although shouting 'Doctor' in a room full of them does tend to get all their attention fairly nicely, he has to admit. And any of them are good for answering questions about things like forcefields, which Jamie...isn't, necessarily, especially to someone from his future.]
Ah, I see. They'd not had any back in my day, either, but that'd be a long time ago for ye. Most of the things in Utgard are more what you'd be used to...I think. I'll admit, I've not been there very much. It'd be easy enough for ye to get there to see for yourself, though, if ye wanted a more first-hand sort of view.
[ Gosh, this is a little strange and awkward. She's sure she'll get used to it, though, especially when the time comes for her to meet a few more. ]
I think I'll have to go and take a look for myself. It seems fascinating, even if we can only go there for a little while.
[He gives her a flash of a crooked grin, then chuckles and shakes his head.]
No, don't worry. I know that'll not work as well in this place. But ye could try the library. There's a fair few of him that likes to hang around there. Or ye could come over for tea sometime, and meet my Doctor. We both live with your Doctor so that'd be easy enough to manage.
[ She returns the grin, shaking her head. ]
I'd love that! I spend a lot of time in the library, so I'm surprised that I haven't run into one before... Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention.
[Which also makes finding specific people who tend to get in trouble a little less easy. Even when they happen to spend time at that library - and that gets him to shrug, in that 'oh well, what can you do' sort of way.]
Ah, I'd not be surprised. It's not as though he generally goes around shouting it in there. For some reason people tend to frown on loud things there, although I've no idea why.
[Being quiet is something he usually saves for creeping down corridors to see what's down them, not libraries.]
Probably doesn't help that he always looks so different, though.
[ She's a library girl, it's probably more than a little obvious. Still, she nods her head, playing with her fingers absently as she ponders. So many Doctors, each of them looking rather different -
and she wanted to meet them all. ]
I'll have to keep an eye on the network and see if I can meet a few more.
[Mostly. Unless it was a time where the Doctor'd been buried in some book or another and he'd gotten very bored, but usually that involves him trying to balance something on his nose. Still, she's right and he knows it - so when his mouth tugs off to the side it's more a rueful sort of expression rather than his usual vaguely disgruntled sort of face-pulling.]
But...alright, ye have a point. Quiet it'll be, then.
[That being settled, he's free to ponder the notion of getting in touch with more Doctors along with her, which he does as he scratches at his chin.]
Could always message them, too. See if they'll be willing to answer more questions for that research of yours, maybe.
