[Castiel hates war. He hates watching it, hates being involved in it, and the only thing that ever makes it worthwhile is if it's for a cause that warrants it. He's not at all sure that's the case here, even now, and that this won't all come back to haunt them.

But he's trying to ignore all of that, because he's a medic team leader, and he has a job to be doing. Several of them, actually, and right now it's using his actual experience to try to keep people from dying, at least, if not defeating the enemy.]

All of those who are intending to act as medical support should meet at the Arena; it is being used as a central location for those involved in the battle. Even if you lack a healing ability and desire to help, you will be of use. We need as many people as can be gathered.

[He frowns for just a moment, considering his next words, but then lifts his chin slightly and continues.]

Those who can both fight and heal are also needed for positions in the field. This would be inherently dangerous, and small groups should be formed rather than individuals going alone. At least one member of this group should be capable of defending themselves and the others if necessary, but not all need be fighters.

[He'll be the one fulfilling that role for his own group, after all, and he doesn't expect many of those here with healing abilities or skills to also be used to fighting.]

This is also a general announcement that anyone injured can seek healing at the Arena, or find one of the healers in the field. If you are in the field and have an emergency, contact my or John Watson's bracelet, and we will direct someone to your location.

[And a small pause, as he looks like he thinks he should say something else--good luck, a reassurance, something--but he doesn't, and instead gives just a small determined nod before shutting off the connection.]

I'll be working at the Arena.

[It's texted to hide the defeat in her voice - every moment leading up to this war, she's planned to heal from the front lines. But now that it's here, she just remembers the Darkness and knows that she can't. She can't fight off enemies to protect a healer, or watch people getting brutally injured and killed. She'll be a liability.

It's her greatest failure in her mind, especially after all of the training she's put herself through, but she doesn't want anyone else to know she's thinking that way.]

[But a small pause, before his next text, almost like he can tell what she's thinking and is trying to give her another option.]

If you do desire to go into the field at any point, Daphne and I could use an energy lender in our group.

[Castiel is more than a match for almost anything that will threaten them; he can protect all three of them, and having Nakama with his group would be a big help.]

[Now she's even more glad that she used text, because the offer leaves her choked up. It's amazing, how they've gone from no understanding at all to him practically reading her thoughts. Going out alone or just with a group of healers was one prospect - being directly attached to Castiel is another.]

I'll see what the situation at the Arena is like. If they can spare anyone, I'd be glad to come along.

I'm going to work at the Hospital, and I might go to the Arena as well.

[ If there is something positive that Asgard changed about Hanako, it's the unwillingness to run away from the war. She can't fight, and she can't heal, but the little skills she learned from Dr. Watson will come in handy when the time comes.

That doesn't mean she's not scared, and the insecurity is clear in her voice. ]

Alright. If you do come to the Arena and neither myself or Watson are here, I'm certain you can find where you are most needed on your own.

[She seems more than bright enough from the times he's spoken to her. Also, he has a bit of an idea.]

[She doesn't bother with responding in video, because she knows very well that his answer is going to be a sharply worded 'stay home'. Instead, Daphne makes her way to the arena and finds him there at the meeting place, threading her fingers through his from behind and squeezing gently before murmuring:]

[She's right in that he really doesn't want her in the field; he'd rather she stay home, or at the Arena. But he also knows it's useless, and after what happened during the darkness attack, he doesn't want to be separated from her. He can protect her while they're together, and do nothing when they're not.

He squeezes her hand just briefly in return.]

We'll be going into the field. There likely aren't many who will be, but with our combination of powers, we're needed.

That could be of great use. Few of the healers can fight, and there will be need for several in the field.

[If she'd be willing to go with a group of them, they'd be a lot more protected.]

For now... I will remain among the healers, helping with the poultices and protecting them. If circumstances change, you'll see me playing backup for the field medics as long as they're not pushing too deep.

I've given it some more thought. I can use this power, like we'd discussed. But, nothing living I use is a tool. I have the sickle and chain, and those should do the trick in the little fights.

[She still wasn't sure she'd grant 'personhood' to an animal, but there was no need to wantonly loose them.]

[He's not too concerned about her misusing her power, really. He's pretty sure she'll do better with it than she seems to believe she will.]

We have no guarantee the Arena will not be attacked, so if you are willing to both assist and attempt to protect it for now, that would likely be the best place for you until something changes. Assisting field medics may also be useful, if we can find any.

[Which is turning out easier said than done in general.]

[Dean's gearing up to fight, and he's done it enough times to not really need to pay attention to what he's doing so he can talk to Cas at the same time. His got his trademark Winchester determined scowl on his face as he lines up bullets on the tabletop.]
