[it's Chie's first time really checking out the network since the darkness happened. the past week or so has been... a little tough on her, and it shows; she's smiling, yes, but there's a sort of tiredness in her expression as she addresses the feed.]

Hey there, everyone! I hope everyone's been doing okay—especially the new arrivals! Usually I'd say something like "Welcome to Asgard!" but I'm sure you're all a little tired of hearing the welcome wagon by now, so I'll spare you that much.

Anyway... I've been thinking about something for a while, and I can't really stop thinking, so I kinda wanna hear other people's answers. What exactly is it that makes someone strong? Physical strength, emotional strength, any other kind of power or fortitude like that... what does it mean to you? It's okay if you don't have any solid answers—I don't, either. It's a kinda tough thing to pin down.

So... yeah! Thanks in advance to anyone who answers! Maybe if I hear what other people have to say, I'll be able to get my mind on other things.

I take it you're back in your body again, mmm? Punch his lights out while he was in yours?

[Ahem]

Will. The ability to refuse to give up is the only thing that really defines someone's strength. Muscles don't do someone any good if the person's not got enough will to put them to their fullest use. If you can't spit in the eye of the guy holding the gun to your head, your strength's not going to go nearly as far.

I've always liked it. If you're going down, might as well drag them to hell with you in the process.

Eh... I've got what you'd call a grim outlook on life. Preferably I'd like to take them down before that came up, mind you. That's always nice.

Ah. I get the issue. I'm talking extremes. Strength doesn't really get put the test until you're near the edge or over it. If we're talking less serious stuff, it doesn't need to go nearly that roughly.

Heh, like I said. Gloomy outlook on life. I tend to go to extremes pretty quickly, most days. Don't worry about it too much.

So, since you're asking you've got me a little curious. How do you define strength?

Well, that's a little... hallmark special for my tastes, but if you're thinking in terms of 'it's how you apply it and what you do with it, you're moving in the same direction I am. Just a different, nicer tone to it.

heh, yeah, yeah. I get the idea. Sounds like you picked something up from this whole conversation, which is good.

If you say so, though I admit I'm less the 'poll the city' sort of person, if that hasn't been too obvious since I got here. I usually just try to figure things out on my own.

I tend to do much better on my own, but much as I'd prefer that, you're probably right at least a little bit. We tend to be stuck here, so there's not much use in completely hiding from others.

Those sorts are all over the place in this city, I've found. Not always a bad thing, except the times when it actually is. No point worrying about it either way.

Lil late for some of that. Depending on the issue, I try not to spread it around too much. It does cut down on the interference at least.

In my trying to take care of things myself. There are some times when the help kind of interferes with my own attempts to handle things.
