I would like to apply for an interview to the Pharmacist or medical staff position. My name is Samantha Grey, and while I lack any sort of formal degree, I have extensive practice in the production of homeopathic and herbal remedies, and equal familiarity with alchemical work.
[She would be the first to admit that 'assistant' might be a better position for her related to the pharmacist, at least until she could prove herself qualified. However, she knew how much her mother had taught her, and she was confident in her abilities.
At this point, she recognized she was caving in, seeking a job in this place. Money, however, could help many things. It opened doors, and besides... she was a little bored. It passed the time when she wasn't starting a survey of the area's ley lines.]
Video
Extensive experience in homeopathics, herbal remedies and alchemy? You certainly have a lot to offer, Miss Grey.
Video
I would offer you full credentials, but really in this situation we're probably best to actually test my knowledge. It focuses more on herbal cures and natural remedies, but I believe I have enough understanding of the methods of dosage preparation through alchemy that there shouldn't be a problem.
When might be a good time for me to stop by and demonstrate?
Video
Any time this afternoon, unless you'd like more time to prepare? I've left our schedule clear for interviews.

Video to Action
She was dressed in a pair of slacks and a button down blouse. Her hat was stuffed into a small pack, and she had allowed her tail and horns to come out. Professional attire would have made hiding her demonic features difficult at best, and if she wanted employment, she really couldn't hide her nature from a would-be employer. The very faint, sulfurous smell lingered if one got very close, though not strongly enough to be offensive.
It was hard not to be nervous. However much experience she had working with herbs through her mother, she had never worked for a formal clinic like this before. It was too public, too visible. She wasn't sure if this was a good idea or not, but it was a better idea than she'd had already.]
Action
The clinic is outwardly the same as any of the buildings in Asgard if more colourful than its surrounding buildings. Within the clinic, however, it is very obviously a doctors office if not exactly in the modern sense. The chairs and sofas arranged in the waiting room have a distinctly Victorian flavour, and the cleanliness and neat arrangement of everything is testimony to the survival of Watson's military habits. There is a painting and a vase here and there, but their arrangement is perfunctory rather than inspired -- still, it's not an unwelcome sight.
Watson's in his professional uniform of shirt and vest and he offers a handshake in greeting.]
Miss Grey? Dr Watson, at your service.
Action
My apologies. I don't like physical contact that much, Doctor.
[She took a look around the decorations and nodded appreciatively. It was like she had walked into the set of a period piece. She could definitely recognize the care that had gone into the decor and allowed herself a small, thin smile.
This close, a very faint aroma was barely detectable underneath the others. It would smell distinctly like Sulfur, though the scent was itself controlled and less offensive than one might have expected somehow, almost as if some undefinable second smell mingled and 'cut' it somehow, giving it a more natural feel.]
It is quite lovely. Should we begin, or maybe a tour first?
Action
Perhaps a quick tour first -- we can talk in the pharmacy. Here's our office where the secretaries will work, the consulting room, where our nurse or the interns interview the patient and get their details, my office where I see my patients, the emergency room, the resting room for cases that require observation, the staff sitting room here -- there is a small kitchen and upstairs a bedroom for staff use -- I try to have someone here overnight in the case of an after hours emergency. The storeroom, the ah -- well, this room's in reserve for a colleague of mine, and here -- the pharmacy.
[The clinic was one two houses, so the rooms still show signs of their original functions as sitting rooms and bedrooms. It's not unpleasant, the rooms having a much warmer feel than a modern clinic might. They've been adapted to their new purpose -- the carpet has been taken out in all of the treatment rooms, and replaced with very clean boards; everything is scrupulously well kept.
The pharmacy on the other hand, is somewhat neglected -- someone was stocking it and halted halfway. There is a mixed supply of herbs in jars and drying in bunches, phials, mortars, pestles, and even a more modern looking chemistry set.]
My predecessor, Zen, was something of an expert in herbal medicine. He intended to offer traditional Chinese remedies in addition to more mainstream medicines. He got this far before he vanished. Unfortunately, this side of medicine has never been my strong point. I've been ordering our medicines through the hospital or via Euri's apothecary, but I've been meaning to find someone to take charge of this for some time.
Action
And then she encountered the pharmacy. It was haphazard, convoluted, incomplete at points and mixed in a hodge-podge that looked like someone was either very disorganized or exactly as he had described them, just started in the process of trying to organize an almost hopelessly impossible task. She frowned as she looked at it. Her mother was practically screaming in her head.
The mention of Euri did not improve her mood. She'd seen the girl's post earlier about emoticons, and it hadn't exactly won her over.]
That ... woman is an apothecary? It takes all kinds, I suppose. This, this will not do. The conditions are, well, if I am going to do this, I need more than just a mortar and pestle. I'm going to need to get this shelf space cleared, and a wide collection of good, clean jars and holders. I'll look over the chemistry set later and start with the herbs to begin with.
[She reached to a small satchel at her side. It was one of the only things she had been wearing at the time of her arrival. There were two books and a small collection of pockets with odds and ends inside. One of the books she left inside, but the other, she pulled out and flipped open. there was what looked like chicken-scratch on the pages she flipped through, complete with small drawings. Walking up to one of the plants, she frowned and gave it a once over.]
Some of these plants may also be toxic. I am definitely going to need to sort these, store what is salvageable, replace what is not and have a clear indication of the needs of your clients before I can go any further. I'm assuming you don't have gold coins flowing out of your ears, so we need to stick to the stock you use first, and then go from there.
... you have nightshade, I see. And your predecessor did know how to preserve it dried, but I am going to need to be careful with this. It can be very toxic if I use too much. Very little goes a long way.
[She looked back at him, at the room and frowned.]
What sorts of plants can be brought here, other than earth-bound species, and is there somewhere I can get a record of non-earth native plants?
[Almost as soon as she'd walked into the pharmacy, seeing it more as an herbalist's dream come true turned nightmare than a modern pharmacy, she had proceeded to act like she owned the place. For an instant, she actually finally felt useful, and she was grabbing onto the sensation, that and trying to ignore the flaming beard.]
Action
The glass jars you can have immediately. We've some stored in the room reserved for colleague. I was thinking of using them for specimens, but the pharmacy is the more immediate concern.
As for your questions -- well, I can give your our monthly orders with the hospital and the apothecary to see what we're currently prescribing patients. I can draw you up a list of our most common medical complaints by tomorrow. Unfortunately, you'd have to go to the library for the information on plants. That hasn't been looked into previously by any of our staff. As for your other needs -- perhaps your first task could be to make a shopping list?
That is if you wish to take the job ... ?

Not so Anonymous Text reply
I will specifically address the answer to this question to Doctor Watson. It is something of a pragmatic reality that speaking openly of controlled substances on unsecured lines is neither practical, nor wise, particularly to an unknown quantity. You may inquire of the Doctor this evening as to my answer.

I have spoken with the good doctor and clarified the situation. I have no ethical concerns with how someone chooses to treat their body, so expect that I will fulfill his prescriptions, which I am told may include cocaine when appropriate. However, I am running his pharmacy, so for the time being no one will be receiving anything that he doesn't prescribe.
It is literally no skin off my hide how someone chooses to handle their health. I could give a rat's ass what laws these people try to put on me. The idea that we should all follow one world's laws on what is right and wrong when we've been abducted from a variety of different worlds is just silly.

Most intriguing. Do you consider yourself a woman of high moral caliber? A conversational topic, if you please.

I'm a monster. Whatever I might want to be, I'm still just a monster. If you're the doctor's patient, you will see that soon enough. Try not to stare at the tail. It gives it unfortunate ideas.
If, however, you insist I would say the word I read that fit my ethics back when I was studying was 'non-malevolence.' Try saying that twelve times fast. As long as it isn't after me or effecting me, I'm not going to usually go out of my way to effect it.
[Short answer: No, not really. She wishes she was better, but ... well, she is half demon.]

Do you pertain to deformity as a whole or your flaw in moral character wherein you allow an illegal vice as long as no blood is caught on your hands.
[ And because it's Holmes, he normally never ever ever goes on video because he must -it's an absolute must that he keeps anonymity in tact. ]
Private - Video
I'd hazard to call 'flaw in moral fiber allowing me to prescribe cocaine' a symptom of a larger problem. By monster, I mean that I'm half demon. Morality doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot when you're on the losing side of an eight thousand year old territorial pissing match from birth.
But, life's a lot simpler if I'm not pissing in the pools of anyone who hasn't pissed in mine. So, it's a bit more crude and literal this time.
I AM SO SORRY THIS IS SO LATE. I'VE BEEN OUT OF IT WITH HOLMES
Physically a monster, psychologically - it is but another matter, no? I am utterly curious on what you mean by this. Your biology in addendum would be most fascinating to observe up close.
Also your astute fondness for euphemisms regarding urine is alarming.
I am most curious on what you mean.
Hee. No worries. Holmes is kind of out of it sometimes as is, brilliant or not
As for the biology, don't start getting the idea you're going to take a scalpel to me. I broke the jaw of the last guy who tried something like that on me. We can 'talk' about it, maybe, in person. Maybe, and just talk. One whiff of chloroform and I'll beat you senseless.
[The girl really had violent urges at times. She thought for a moment what he was getting at with the 'urine comment.' It came to her and she rubbed her forehead.]
It's an idiom where I come from. The "Golden Rule" is another way of putting it. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you, basically. If they don't come after me, I don't come after them.
AHHH I REALLY LOVE SAMANTHA. asdjas | Do you have plurk?
The chloroform will not arrive with me.
