002 ✩ video/action for Heimdall

[The video opens a view of a slightly messy part of the kitchen in Heimdall. Among the broken eggshells, a carton of milk and various other messy bowls and spoons, there's finally a safe milky concoction in a mixing bowl Ven's set aside, and he's scribbling on a piece of paper. ]

... so I know a lot of people here, like me, has been here for a while. And I've seen people who arrived and left but came back after a while anyway. And they sometimes come back without the memories they have of their time here.

[A pause as he taps his chin with the pen he was writing with, looking thoughtful.]

... and I know a lot of us here made friends with people from other worlds than our own. So... do you think... there's a way we can keep those memories of those people so we won't forget? Or maybe there's a way to leave behind a reminder here or bring it with us back home or something, even if we do forget. Has anyone asked the Gods that?

... I don't really want to forget my new friends.

[A pause before he reaches for tiny food coloring bottles, simultaneously shutting off the feed.]

[Sort of pinged by the mention of memories, but. She's still unsure of what to think about Ven, so hesitant as poop text responses for now. She'll probably also end up slapping a filter on this later, depending.]

Maybe you can't remember them because there's nothing left to remember.

How can you be sure about there always being something to remember?

[...there's a several minute pause before the next response. Sorry, Ven.]

Yes.

You're right. I'd never forget the time spent with my friends.

[Oh the irony of this. Another text comes up several seconds later.]

Could you still remember someone who doesn't exist? ["Anymore", she should say, but...]

Nothing.

Just a thought.

I'm sorry, Ventus. It's complicated.

[...attempting subject change with a question.]

What's :)?
catorce: (now we'll head back up to monmouth)

So if you want to show you're smiling over text, you use that face like this? :)

It looks weird, though. Isn't there a way to flip it over?
catorce: (break the circle, take us back)

It'd be nice if there were other ways. This looks like it could come in handy when you can't use audio or video.

Maybe you could use it in special occasions like when you run out of something good. ):?
catorce: (where i know i feel alive)

You know, those aren't half bad. Maybe we could find a lot of other faces using that idea.

Like '^'?

[...and after sending this text, she thinks even that look kind of stupid.]
