asgardeventide | (001) Video/Action for those in the castle

[For those who are currently landlocked in the castle as well, they're going to be spotting a hooded female figure pacing around the castle as if looking for something. Or, perhaps, she's more accurately inspecting and observing everything she can. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem like she's in a very cheerful mood while doing it.]

[For those inspecting the network at this hour, however, the same hooded figure is going to show up in what seems to be an accidental video. Judging from her squeak of surprise, it looks like she accidentally activated her bracelet's holographic screen and is now staring at it in what can only be assumed to be surprise.

The staring goes on for a couple of seconds, with her hand coming up to touch the screen as well, before she so eloquently starts to speak.]

I... [A pause, trying to figure out what to say now that she realizes it's recording.] ...Hello. Can someone please tell me more about this place? I'm... I'm not supposed to be here.

[...aaaaand, then she just proceeds to stare awkwardly for another second before shutting this video feed off. Mostly because she's worried sick about what's going to happen if she's here and partly because what is she doing what is going on this is hideous.]

Hi, the name's Zack! A lot of us aren't supposed to be here. So you're in good company.

But while we're here, we might as well stick together. This place's called Asgard. If there's anything you want to know about it, I'll do my best to tell you.

[Ah...she's a little bit more used to talking to people through this thing now. Still, switching this over to voice on her end.]

Um... nice to meet you, Zack. I'm Xion.

[He doesn't mind her switch to voice, and he doesn't mention it.]

I know there're a few of 'em, one for each district. The districts are all named after them. I heard they pick us out for different reasons.

[He's not the biggest fan of the gods, but he doesn't put too grim a face on it. It's probably better than the situation back home, but that's no reason to let things slide here.]

As far as I can tell, sometimes they do good things for people, and sometimes bad, and nobody knows why. It doesn't sit right with me, but so far, there's been no chance to do anything about it.

[Man, this all sounds like standard affairs with higher ups for her. She takes this new information in for a moment, before replying.]

Do you know who the gods are? So far I've heard of... four, I think.

Uh, lemme see-- [He's sure he's got this!] Sigyn, Odin, Freya, Freyr, Loki, Heimdall--that's my district--Hel, Thor--

[He's counting them off on his fingers as he does this.] That's eight... I'm forgetting somebody. [A pause.]

Right, Baldr! That's all nine of them.

[She takes a moment to let all of those names sink in. If she remembered all of them, then maybe staying here would be easier, after all.

But, there's also one detail that sticks out right now.]

Oh, uh... you're in Heimdall?

Right, sure am! I've been here a couple weeks now.

Guess I don't need to ask how long you've been here. Where'd they put you?

...Heimdall. Guess we'll see each other around.

Oh hey, great to have another housemate! Welcome aboard, Xion. We might all be stuck, but the people here are good to know.

I can show you around once this fog lets up, if you want.

As for stuff you've got to do back home, the gods say they'll put us back right where they found us, later.

[Which isn't that great for him, but is probably good news for most people.]

I see. Then whatever it was you were doing, you'll come back to that?

[And, that's a great relief for her, despite certain details.]

[She sounds a little more easy about that, which he's glad to hear.]

Seems like it, as far as anybody can tell. It's like they're borrowing us--which isn't right, but it could be worse.

[This is a damn sight better than Shinra's labs, where that kind of thing is concerned.]

...For how long do you think they'll be borrowing us?

Well, I don't really know. Wish I could tell you, Xion. They want us to bring color back to this place, by living and feeling. They haven't said how long that might take.

[FEELING...] What about people that can't feel? What do they do then?

Oh, uh--[He hadn't expected that question, but he rolls with it.]

I don't think they do a check! So they're off the hook. Anyway, if they're dealing with other people, those people are gonna have feelings, so--you can cause feelings without having them and that works too.

So... as long as you make other people feel, it's alright?

Exactly!

I'm already glad to meet you, so you're doing great so far.

[He laughs. Not that he isn't concerned about what she said about people who can't feel, but it's not a subject he's going to pry into now.]
