As things are proceeding smoothly, this seems as good a time as any. How unfortunate that I wouldn't be able to open sooner, with all of the fuss about the Ides. Ah, well.

[The shrug is evident in his voice, clear that he doesn't actually care at all, so he continues without much of a pause] In roughly two to three weeks time, I will be opening a bar and lounge, called Lux. It will be a more pleasant alternative to Sky's Prize, which is entirelly too Norse for my tastes. Besides offering a wider variety of drinks, it will also offer live entertainment nightly. Naturally, this means that I'm seeking employees.

Call for Applications —

Lux is an exclusive and high class lounge, formerly operated in Los Angeles, California, United States, Earth. Owned and operated by Lucifer Morningstar, the Lux will offer a stylish venue for the citizens of Asgard and an alternative to the locally owned bars. All applications, regardless of experience, will be considered. Angels and others who take issue with the owner's identity need not apply.

All positions are currently open, including but not limited to servers, hosts, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, and security (bouncers). If you feel that you can provide a service not listed here, you may inquire further. In addition, live entertainment will be hired and booked at Lucifer's discretion. Jazz and blues music are preferred, though performances of all kinds will be given an audition. Hours and pay for all positions will be negotiated if a job offer is extended.

[He's amused by her application, at the very least. In honesty, he would have had doubts about hiring someone with such an arrogant application, but he hopes that it comes from their existing level of (perceived) familiarity.

You do realize that this is a rather self-congratulatory application, don't you? I would hope that this wouldn't be your usual tone for an application.

That said, you're already hired. I don't have an opening date quite yet, but would you willing to perform on opening night?

There's nothing wrong with being confident. However, confidence and arrogance are very different things.

Perhaps. But I would venture that your prowess comes from magic, because I can't imagine that it comes from brute strength. You look more suited to singing than bounty hunting.

Well, you're not wrong there. I can fight with a staff, but I'm better with magic.

A shame. But naturally, I won't be considering incomplete applications, especially with the absence of references. You can say anything you want on an application, but I of course need to know what sort of person I would actually be hiring. The references are rather important.

No. Faith is not something that I have any measurable quantity of. Or, to use it as you mean it, I am also not inclined to trust a stranger, especially when it concerns the operation of my bar.

That depends on the clientele. Some shadiness is unavoidable, because it is a bar, but I can at least hope that those with such interests will find other places to operate.

Understandable. But I'm afraid that I cannot say with any certainty. There is the atmosphere I would prefer, but I do not have the luxury of filtering out my clients as I do in Los Angeles. To make a profit, I'll have to allow most people to be patrons.

That is also understandable. I sincerely hope that the atmosphere of your establishment turns out as desired.

Ah, also--are you going to keep first aid on hand and train your staff in it?

[Ah, now this line of questioning was more interesting. His interest doesn't show on his face, but he does allow some measure of it in his tone]

I had not planned to, other than keeping perhaps a first aid box somewhere on the premises. Call it equal parts wishful thinking and disinterest.

It's probably worth going a bit further than that; especially with the...colorful collection of people here! As a doctor I have experience with these things.

Apologies for the slight delay. I was held up in a situation that more than likely serves no interest to you.

In that case, I'm grateful that this situation resolved itself, or at least isn't as occupying.

In any case, the position is yours. The responsibilities entail all of those that you would normally expect of a managerial position, though they're fairly simplified due to the size of the city. And of course, considering the ever unpredictable nature of the gods who reign in this Asgard, should I ever leave or otherwise be incapable of running Lux, it will be yours. I've already put much more stock into it than as a bar, but those will reveal themselves in time, if at all.

[Of course it's more than a bar. What else would you expect from Lucifer? The construction of the Lux took place under his watchful eye, and he was much more cautious with this one than its twin in Los Angeles. Should the gods' power ever falter, there's plenty of dormant power in that building just waiting to be awakened.]
